Then why doesn't she lower her fee, or for a change not ask one at all ?!?! It's not like she has money issue's (thanks to her fans!)

Not sure how these things work but it's either her agents or more likely Fox Entertainment that set the fees for these convention type things, so in theory it isn't her fault...
Although I know a fella who deals in autographs and he only gets 5 or 6 a year of SMG (If he's lucky).. she's a real culprit for signing in dark spots though ::thumb::
that fox entertainment arguement makes no sense cause conventions support a fan base....solidify ratings...
sarah is obligated to appear on talk shows to promote...but i highly doubt that fox has a clause in her contract stating that the appearence fee will be so high that she doesn't have to do conventions....
this is her decision...place the responsibility on her not fox....

Whether she sets the fee or not, it's her prerogative to not have to do that sort of thing if she doesn't want to. It might have something to do with the stalker she had...or a time issue...or that she wants to have a private life. Don't forget that when she's off the set that's her time off - doing things like going to a convention would take up what little free time she has. It's a job - she does her job - she doesn't owe us any more than that.
I think after 7 years she's tired of the grueling filming schedule - especially trying to fit in movies on the off time.
And about the money...any time an actor finishes a job, it is conceiveable that they could never work again. There is no job security in that business. So yeah, she might be making a lot now (but I would wager it's still less than many in the industry) but it also might have to last the rest of her life.

I really wouldn't blame her for not attending conventions after the stalker/death threats thing, plus the fact we know they can get a little nuts, which is why more minor characters tend to go; they have more available time, Sarah may well have had to take time off to go to cons, as they were only getting a month or so off. I don't know why, but I tend to "take" to well to SMG in interviews, and she has had a lot of problems with what the show has brought her; apparently the old joke about the bra strap drinking game upset her, things like that can be taken pretty personally. Besides, who can blame the girl for wanting to make as much as she can; she had a pretty poor (purely in teh financial sense) upbringing; things like that tend to make you want security, and that is what money, plus her new hubbie, will bring.

I'm sorry all, but I have to go with Soulgasm for just this once. Sarah seems to be getting issues, as she has even tried to influence the events to occur during the series.
And according to some, she strongly dissagrees with Joss on wether this is the best way to end the series ... fortunatly she's contracted, but I'm getting sceptical about her, she's balacing on the line!

I don't think we can blame the low acceptance and quality of season seven on the actors. There is only one to blame: the writer.
I think it's perfectly fine that they aggreed to end it now. I would have rather enjoyed a show that ended on a great note and didn't drag on and on with the actors getting paid a billion dollars an episode like "Friends" (no offense Friends fans, honestly)
SMG might not get the best movie acting career, but she'll probably do things from time to time. And you never know... she could still hit it big. And even if that flops, I'm sure she is probably thinking about starting a family sometime, so that will keep her occupied.

I am intreged by so many interesting opinions wicked feed back I think that it is unfair to judge an actress that is so bound by a specific roll that will most likely ruin he career. Her roles in movies have only fail as badly as they did because the fans are unable to see her as anything but buffy even though her acting abilities in the movies was good it is the fans that want her to be only buffy but that isnt her fault she is being punished for doing such an incredable job of the roll of buffy fans are unable to allow her to be anything else. I cant imagine how insufferable it must be to know this and yet still realize that her career and future rest on the shoulders of fans that say they love her but wont allow her to be more then buffy
as for wanting to have a say in what happens in the final season of the show i should hope that the writters would not only listen but also understand the importance in it. This final season will bare a large weight on the rest of her career in the eyes of the fans she will be judged for the finale someone said the fans refer to her as buffy not sarah this shows the thin line that lies inbetween being buffy and sarah

this falkin role made her career... you think she'd be in a better situation if she didn't get this role?? she had her chance to leave after season 5...but she chose to stay on...and further typecast herself...
she contibutes to the typecast(female ass kicker) by doing movies like Scooby DOo and the sequel to scooby doo...movies simply to make money...movies that fail miserably to show off her skills...
she can do independent films that show off her skills but up until now i don't know of any good dramatic roles other than cruel intentions...

Look at most series and you will find the actors have in some way "influenced" either by valuable input as to how the character would act, or more direct such as on Charmed; look at most of the credits this season, and you will find "Producer: Alyssa Milano, Producer: Holly Marie Combs" It's more the norm than the actor simply going in, playing the lines and going home And for all you know, she may have the beter ideas, truer to teh story of Buffy; she has played her for years enough that Bufy is a real person to many including SMG herself.
(Note. I'm talking hypothetical; no one should start listing "well this is Joss' idea and the SMG's)

I am only high enouf to see how closed minded you are being the role of buffy may be what founded her career indeed but that dosnt mean that she is only that is stallon only rambo or how about bruce willice is he only known for his(male axxkicker roles) in the lethal weapon series or how about clint eastwood is he only dirty harry all actors start somewhere as a specific role that creates the begining of the larger portion of their career that dosnt mean that their career stays there she is only moving on to the next stage i remember movies like the t.v. series moonlighting with bruce willise i can still smell the stench of his acting or bridges of madison county his emotions was so cold i froze all actors have bombs not just her although i must agree that this seasons writting has been lacking to my taste but remember sarah is mad about alot of things in this seasons so she obviously disagrees with the writting also

Tae Kwon Do brown belt, she studied it in her early teens. I think it was Tae Kwon Do anyway. Oh and I believe SMG recreated the female ass kicking role; and Eliza Dushku is only about 3 inches taller, SMG being of average female height and all (that being 5'2", same as me....)
