2005's Serenity brought the story of Joss Whedon's Firefly to an end -- kind of. Following up on a number of teases, Dark Horse Comics has confirmed that it will be launching a new Serenity comic that takes place following the movie, with art by Buffy the Vampire Slayer artist Georges Jeanty.

Looking forward to the new firefly comic, just hope it gets realised sooner rather than rather.
 
Brilliant! I'm really excited it's set after the movie, can't wait to see whats happened since then!

Also love Jeantys stuff for Buffy so it's a win win!
 
He's at Vampire Ball in November so I'm sure people will be asking about it then, if there's no news before
 
Jeanty? Ugh. He's awful. They should have the woman who does Angel & Faith do it instead. As long as it wouldn't interfere with her A&F of course.
 
I'm not too sure on his artwork tbh, I could barely tell some of the characters apart on Buffy Season 8... A new Firefly comic though, yes. I think the Firefly comics have been handled wonderfully. Can't wait to see the new stuff. 🙂
 
Sweet news if you ask me. Jeanty's art can be patchy but his panels have a verve and kinetic energy. I like that in my funny books.

I can't believe its taken this long to get an ongoing Serenity comic off the ground anyway. We should be knee-deep in Firefly adventures by now. There's million stories that could be told that verse. =/
 
I like Jeanty a lot, but I agree that there are moments when I don't. However the snippets they've shown so far are wonderful! I'm so excited that they're going to do stories post-Serenity!!

Although I think more Dollhouse comics are definitely in order. They kind of left us hanging.
