Ok, I'll admit it - I'm too old to have a clue what the fuss is about, pimping, tweaking, shouts. But I'm interested to learn. I like to keep my finger on the pulse, even if it's 3 years after everyone else!

So how may of you have MySpace/Facebook/Xanga whatevers, and what do you get out of it? Is it worth my time and effort sorting one out? How long have you been doing it! And do the people you meet here join you in myspace type places or is it all kept seperate?

I haven't even got around to a homepage.....

i have a MySpace and a LiveJournal, and although i check out MySpace everyday, i use LiveJournal a lot more.
i'll admit that most of the people on my friend's list on MySpace are from BB, although i do have one or two friends over there that have nothing to do with BB, it's just a place for us all to stay in touch.
i think there are 3 BB'ers who are on my LJ flist, but it's easier over there to find people with the same interests as you do.

LJ can be a little bit harder to navigate for beginners, so i suggest you start with a MySpace first of all. sorry, but i have no idea about any other ones out there!

I have a MySpace and I check it everyday as well. I mostly use it to keep in touch with people I went to high school and college with. Also some fellow BBrs. I find it useful because some of the people on there, I keep in touch with ONLY on MySpace. It's a lso a way for everyone to see what you've been up to since they last saw you. It's a cool way to meet new people also. There are a few people I became friends with through MySpace.

I as well have a myspace and a Live journal. I check my myspace everyday and i love it I use it to keep touch with my friends in alabama as well as friends from work and here on BB. Sometimes things can be complicated to learn but its great 😀

I have a Bebo, cuz not allot of people in ireland have MySpace. And this Bebo thing sprung up when I was in 6th year, and since most of us haven't used somethig like it before, EVERYONE got one - and I mean everyone, it became like the 3rd most visited website in Ireland!

It's mostly a way to keep in contact with the people from school, and share your pictures... Ok it's a way to spy on everyone 🙂

I have a MySpace. I think the link to it is in my signature but I can't remember. I use mine to talk to old friends, new friends, and even a couple of coworkers. I enjoy MySpace and think it's definitely worth having, even though I do get tired of a lot of the immature people who use it. And when you're bored, it can be fun to make new layouts and stuff for your profile.

I also use it almost exclusively when it comes to communication over the Internet, I use my e-mail mainly for other stuff and talk to a total of two people over that. Everyone else, Myspace. (And IM). As far as I know I'm only MySpace friends with Anita Blake. And her noodle.

I have one...and it's just something fun. My friends are family members, BB members and my husband. So, really, it's not a method of keeping in contact with long-lost friends for me. Just fun.

It's worth it, makes you feel cool and such! 🙂

I have a MySpace, and a LiveJournal, but I don't really use MySpace that much, I check it every now and then mostly to see if anyone has posted any fun bulletins. My LiveJournal I use more often, I think it's a very good way to be updated on what's going on in my friends lives (and to keep them updated about mine).

I have both MySpace and a LJ, but to be honest I'm too forgetful to use either, and I might check them once every few months.

Out of the 2 I preferred LJ for ease of use & people though. 🙂

I have a myspace page. I was bored one day and got one so I could make the layout for it. I change it all the time just for something to do. Found loads of people from school on there though 🙂

Im on bebo too but I hate it

Is it one of those things that take AGES to set up and faff with? Cos to be honest, I struggle to check in here and check all the threads, so I'm not suer of it's worth the time. I suppose once it is up and running it's ok....?

That sounds just like me 'lol'
Been meaning to get around to setting up a MySpace page for ages but, like Kali, never seem to find the time. I will get around to it eventually though.

I check out the Evanescence page a lot, funnily enough, hehe.

Well it depends on who you are Like me honestly I change my layout probley twice a month sometimes and change my song all the time plus my top 8, Here lately cause of work i haven't been as able to do that. But i did it because i liked to do it not because i have to.

Some people get a myspace just sign up and dont even add a layout and thats fine its basically completely up to you how far you take it and do what with it. If you wanna just sign up, fill out the profile thing (or not your choice) then thats fine, You can check it as much or as little as you'd like.

I stilll check mine every day once in the morning and once at night to see my comments and read my mail. Then on the days i have off i look at all those who have commented me and i comment them back.

Kinda the same with BB i look on here in the morning before work to see whats going on then after work i come on here and do my posting it might not be too much of it but then on my days off like today i'll go through most of the posts and post in whihc threads i feel i should nad then with the others i'll let it be. So in a short answer.... Myspace is awesome, and its yours... so you do what you want with it. No harm in joinning up and doing a test run right? Try it for say a week or so if you dont like it then dump it i guess?

Right, just as soon as I set one up, I'm expecting all you myspace peeps to come and give me comments! I'll see if I have the time this week 🙂

MySpace gets annoying. There's all that chain bulletins and crap, things about you getting murdered if you don't repost (like that'd ever happen; as I have not reposted at least 100 a day) or something about spreading religion.

LiveJournal and Xanga are more blog-like, I mean MySpace has it, but no one reads that.

Ok, I've set one up, but haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet apart from set a song! Haven't even done a piccie, and so far I've already been approached by Bristol's 'Time Out' magazine Venue - what a cheek! Bloody advertisers!!!

My friend has added me as a friend and siad it will be useful for us to keep in touch , but his site is sooooo full on I can hardly read it, let alone find out where to message him. Any tips for prettying mine up?

I have a myspace.. i think its great because it helps you keep in touch.. and i only really use it for that and also the music... i also have a Live Journal where i snag ppls icons and post all my art.. well most of my art :silly:

I have a MySpace. I don't really see the point in having one, but I've got one. I read my friend's blogs and dick around on their pages for a while.

Blogging, for me, is Xanga. I REFUSE THE LIVEJOURNAL REVOLUTION. Xanga all the way. ...not that I use it much.

Who doesn't have a myspace these days? It's taking over the world. It's really the only way I can keep in contact with people who have gone off into the world or whatever. It's a good thing, in my opinion. It can get a little catty and a little too "popularity contesty", but whatever. I'm still on it every day.
