Get Out Of Sunnydale Free Card

Ya That was probably it. Plus the whole thing that they are all valley girls. (valley girl N. a girl raised with above adverage privledges, making them imune to intelect.)

Maybe they liked risking their lifes...or,the 'stay-at-home-during-the-night' thing didn't bother them...who knows?

Well, With all the Power the Vamps had in Sunnydale. They could have put some barricade up or something, trapping everyone inside. Or, The whole world could be under the same influence. What good would it do to run?

Or, They could have just been to afraid to leave 😛

People have lives. They have jobs, they have friends, they have attachments. It's not so easy to pick up yourself and leave, no matter how dire. Same holds for if everyone left. People scatter. You have to pick yourself up and start anew. Make new friends. Create a whole new life.

Also, within the context of the episode, it showed the Sunnydale without Buffy. So, in order for there to be a Sunnydale, there need to be people to show the contrast of their lives now compared to their lives in the WishVerse. So...there. THE END.

there couldnt have been a barricade becaues buffy got in sunnydale but who knows

maybe they were afraid to leave. Maybe they were just dumb...lol. Even w/ Buffy sunnydale wasn't the safest place and noone fled then, maybe they liked living dangerously..

It seemed everyone in Sunnydale knew about vampires, so maybe it was the same everywher else. Maybe Buffy not showing up in Sunnydale didn't just effect Sunnydale it affected the whole world. Maybe after the Master rose vampires became common knowledge and vampires no longer hid their existance. People might not have left because it was the same situation all over the world.

I think they stayed because they couldn't sell their homes at a decent price and move elsewhere. I mean how much could a house in sunnydale sell for with all that mayhem going on???!

Yea, maybe they're just wayyy too dumb to realize "hey, i can actually get outta this place and save my life!"

Its the same as we used to discuss in Geography all the time, except then it was places with lots of Earthquakes or near Volcanos. People don't want to move, they have attachments, link, family, they dont think it will happen to them, cant afford to move, they have jobs there etc.

In "Welcome to the Hellmouth" Cordelia states that "We don't have a lot of town" and from what I've seen there isn't really a corporate presence that would allow for the employment of residents. I mean they could work at the school, coffee shop, magic shop, grocery store, art gallery etc. But nothing that couldn't be found elsewhere.

But a lot of people don't want to leave their jobs because of the financial gamble that that is, some people will find jobs but some people had to work long and hard to get where they are and while they may be a great employee they may not have that shining CV so they may be passed on. Plus they may not be able to get referrences if their boss has been eaten.

Basically, every place has its drawbacks. You have people who live on floodplains and rebuild the entire town every few years, and the entire city of Pompeii that is situated beneath an active volcano. People tend to have a belief that things won't happen to them, they only happen to other people. After something catastrophic like the Harvest, they might have just felt that if one bad thinng happened, they would be less likely to have another. Plus, no after-dark travel must have seriously cut down on muggings and violent crime, so that's a plus...

I was thinking in The Wish, during the daytime don't you think people would of feld Sunnydale? Why didnt they?

People can't just up and leave their homes. Most people would stand and fight for something that was truly theirs. Some people don't have the pleasure of having a place to call home. Afterall, Buffy fought for hers! :gun:

The people of Sunnydale don't fight though...they make up explanations for the things that occur and live ignorantly.
