Ooh, this is my second thread I've ever made. Feelin' proud right now. I just never seem to have anything to say...

Anyhow, doesn't it make you feel special when you begin to get a friend interested in Buffy? I've suceeded in getting my friend Natalie and my sister obsessed with the show and now I'm working on my friend Allyse. I think I'm getting through to her. She's been obsessed with the song 'I've Got a Theory' for awhile and always sings it.

Also, she was reading my Buffy quote book I've been making and laughed at the Spike 'Cuppa tea" quote to Giles. I was like "Yeah, I laughed hard out there too" and she's like "There's actually a lot of funny stuff in here" and today she was reading the shooting script for Revelations and was laughing hard out.

So, I'm getting there, ya think so? Any tips on how to get her...erm...obsessed?

Weird post, I know. I just felt like posting.

Good job! You are indeed so lucky! 😀

My friends are like yours, Tajana. 🙂 One of mine looked up the plot I think, or at least some of it, and decided it was stupid. Another friend has watched the first 3 seasons, but no more, and that was a few years ago. My obsessing about it probably doesn't help get them interested, but I do really try not to ramble and rant about it. Oh well. Most of my friends are into manga and anime.

My friends all confess they were watching it from time to time what it was airing and they were bored, but now, it's like they have better things to do.. and I'm like, what's better than Buffy? :D

Have you tried kidnapping her and tying her to a chair and prying her eyes wide open like they do in Clockwork Orange? If you haven't, then you should. I think it would work. 😀

I'm glad you've been able to convert your friend and sis into Buffy fans, and I hope your next friend swill become obsessed too.

You can convert me whenever Jo. :D
It is great. I got my mother obsessed and it wasn't that hard. Especially when she was introduced to dear old spike.

You could just pop it in one day. That is what I do then people are like okay I guess we can watch it. I think she will be coming around though because she is singing the song and laughing at the quotes it is getting her interested it seems.

Nice on the converting! I could never do that, my friends are stubborn they hate that kind of fan stuff.
*sigh*

Ah, see--Allyse and I are big on fan stuff. We did the whole Twilight thing when it happened and now I am totally embarrased about that. And we LOVE Harry Potter and Taylor Swift and all of that and so this is kind of like the next step. I'm probably going to pop it in next time she's over, that's what it did with Natalie and my sis. For both of them it was Once More, With Feeling but Allyse has already seen that one in class.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an episode to show her? Or should I just start with Welcome to the Hellmouth???

I always think it's better to start at the beginning when watching a series, but that's just my opinion since I love watching a show unfold in the order it was meant to happen. That's how I've become hooked on "Supernatural" now, lol! But, if you do want to go out of order, maybe go with "School Hard," "Lovers' Walk," or "Something Blue," since they've already seen OMWF. Or maybe "Tabula Rasa," since that's the episode after OMWF 🙂

I've said it elsewhere but I think it bares repeating...
When there is someone I want to get hooked on Buffy I go out and purchase them Season One.
It can usually be found on sale and makes a great gift!
It's also a good idea to watch the first few episodes with them...I find that if someone can make it through the first few ep's they are usually hooked!
