Getting Old...

No one likes to admit it but I'm starting to realize it, most of the people I knew in highschool are either getting married or having a second kid. People call me "Sir" and I never get I.D'd anymore haha. Point is have you ever experienced something like this, where you just feel like your getting old? Even if your not.

I don't know this may sound dumb but you'll realize it sooner or later.

Yeah I had one today! A friend of mine and me were in a shop useing one of those express machines (where you scan the items and then put in the money, no cashier) we scanned wine for her mom and it said assistance required (so they look at our ID) but they didn't do it they just confirmed it from their station without asking for our ID - we felt old.

Same thing when you go out and you don't get I.D'd I always feel like "aw shit why didn't you ask - I have it!"

And I'm 19, lol

Actually I feel pretty young since all of my friends are already 'responsible' adult who are working and I'm still completing my uni education, and thinking of comitting myself to another 3yrs of student life :s

and people always say that I look pretty young too, not that I'm old (I'm 23, turning 24) but people still say I could pass for a 16 or 17yr old...I don't really think its a compliment, but it'll be great looking young later in life, my grandma is nearly 70 and she still looks the same as 20 yrs ago to me...good genes 😉 lol)

I had one in November. I was away with friends and they were discussing how old they were going to be on their next birthday and all of a sudden I realised that I would be 27 on my next birthday! I had a mini panic attack! I think in my head I'd still been 18 and although I'd aged I hadn't taken it in!

Unfortunately the marraige and kids things been happening to me for nearly 10 years now so that's not really something that makes me feel old! I need to find a man first before I get any of those! Although I'm fed up of being on this shelf!

Honestly lol i feel old alot... i'm only 18 going on 19 but I work way to much lol andd i feel like i'm like 80 everything hurts haha nah in all honesty I look alot older than i am so even though i'm 18 when i was 11 i was able to get into rated R movies alone, and buy cigerettes cause i looked 18... when i was 16 i was able to walk into a liqour store half the time and get alcohol without being carded... yeah so i've felt old for a while now 🙁

Wow I feel old just reading the posts on here I an older then alot of you guys on the boards. I just turned 29 last month. One more year and I will be 30. What really makes me feel old is here I am at 28 and just now having my first child and my oldest neice just turn 20 will be giving birth to her first child soon. It seems like just yesterday she was a baby herself. Anyhow I am an aunt, a mother, and now I will be a great aunt. Yes I feel old.

Nah, I never feel old - I'm the oldest person that I work with in my office and I act the youngest - I still mooch off my folks big time and party till four in the morning on weekends..

I kinda feel childish compared to some of my friends as they are all getting engaged, married or having kids. Its great for them, and not something I want but my friends told me yesterday they are pregnant with their second child, and the father is only six months older than me.

It depends on who im with. They make me feel young, but at uni even though I only took a gap year and thus am a year older than most first years sometimes they're age difference really shines. Or when I realise a few of my friends are just a few months older than my younger brother :/

LOL...Yeah, I about cringed last March when I went on vacation to visit the parents. Mom and I were shopping and we continuously were asked if we were sisters. My mother was flattered, but DAMN! I felt like a pretty old 26-year-old right about then. I think I dyed my hair the very next day...LOL....

I remember one time I was baby sitting my little cousin I had to run out to the store. So, when we were in one of the stores this girl asked If I was his father. I'm only nineteen! Jeez... anyways I hit off with that girl and went out with. So It seems I'm older than I look and little kids are babe magnets.🙂

It's the same for me, though I'm 22 now, but people constantly think I'm only 16-17 or something. I find it annoying though, but I guess it can be good too sometimes, like when I can get youth discounts even when I'm too old for them.

About feeling old though, I used to feel old, I was in this pretty serious relationship and people were sort of asking us when we were getting children and stuff (which is insane imo, since I was only 19 or something), but after ending that relationship I have found my way back to the more childish me again, which feels great.

^ Same with me. Im 21, but I guess sometimes people think im more about 16 or 17. I think its a lot to do with clothing too, i still wear stuff i use to wear in high school. If i dressed up i think id look my age or maybe a bit older. Oh well!

I'm 26 but I feel a lot older. Physically there are things that I could do ten years ago with ease that I find are much more difficult now and take more out of me.

Life just seems to be zooming by at the moment. So many things to do with so little time to do them in.

I am always reminded of the song 'Time' when I read topics like this.

I'm turning 24 this year....geez how much I don't want to!

People are starting to think that I'm acting my age when I'm trying to be mature and turn their noses at me when I'm being childish...not to mention I'm one of the "happy" few of my group of friends that is not getting married or having babies or getting broody...

Still...growing up is manadotory but growing up is optional and I hope to still be saying highly childish and inappropriate things when I'm 80.

I never feel old, I'm 20 but look 15 and people treat me that way I guess.. The only time I feel old is when people my age have babies/graduate from uni, or something like that. Which makes me feel useless 'cause I haven't done anything, heh..

The worst realization for me was getting up one morning after a particularly "vigorous" hockey game and seeing this old guy in the bathroom mirror...I thought, "When did I get so old...and so bald?"
