Getting Old...

i feel old when i look around and people i went to high school with are having kids and i'm still running around like a stupid fangirl, going to conventions.
i'm too young to settle down with anyone, or have kids. i can barely look after myself, let alone a kid who's completely dependant on me.
although, a few weeks before Christmas, i took the little girl i loom after to the store, and the woman behind the counter thought she was mine! she's 6, and i was 21 at the time...i wan't that kind of girl when i was 15!! lol
 
I never feel old, because unfortunately, even though I'm 19, I could pass for pretty much any age between 14-19, and I have people guessing any age between those all the time. It's quite annoying and a little embarrassing. Any chance I'll still look young at 40? 😀

I'm still a kid I think? Most people will see that I obviously don't wanna grow up through my adoration of Peter Pan.
I've often been told that I really act like a kid, bouncing around, playing games, loving kids' stuff (movies, toys, games) ... but sometimes it feels like I don't have enough energy for it anymore, I get tired of a game when the kid I play with isn't, or something that should makes me really happy and make me bounce doesn't... that's when I feel old.
 
i just realized this week that my baby brother is going to be 18 in September. that's made me feel really old!

My brother is turning 18 next week! gasp! I remember when i was turning 18!
It is with amusement that I have read these posts. There is only two markers in life that indicate you are getting old.
1. The last place you grow hair in your early teen years turns grey before your eyes
2. You sound like a bowl of rice krispies when you wake up in the morning...snap, crackle and pop. This of course leads to 2a. You actually think of the morning you wake up not in pain is the morning you wake up surrounded by a warm bright light, lol.

I was thinking the other day about how the people from How I Met Your Mother aren't really adults as they are 27/28. Then I realised its not that they're not adults, its just that I'm getting closer to their age, whereas with something like Friends I was much younger when it started so they seemed more like adults.
 
I hang around a lot of 30 year old engineers (okay, I work with them so that's besides the point) so I have it on good authority that you don't need to mature once you hit 30...well, they haven't! :lmao:

If all you so-called "old folks" would like to hear from a REAL old man, I'll tell you a simple fact you can look forward to when you get to be my age. Do you know what 60 feels like? It feels just like 20, BUT IT HURTS MORE! Think about that the next time you bemoan your "advanced" age.

On a more positive note, getting old isn;t so bad once you consider the alternative.

Becoming a vampire and staying young and pretty? 😉

I recently purchased one of the things I've been wanting since I was a teen (but never got for Christmas because we're very much a "computer" family)...now I spend bored moments at home in front of the Xbox and I disturbing the neighbours with my loud frustrations when I get beaten playing the fighty games...

The body maybe 23....the mind is probably still about 13... :lmao:
