Just interested in your beliefs, etc. You don't even have to get wordy if you don't wanna. So here goes:

Do you believe in (any) God?
Do you practice a religion?
Do you believe in Heaven?
Hell?
Are you anti or pro abortion?
Death Penalty?
Right to Die?
Animals Rights?

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?
Political System
Justice System
Educational System
Health Care System
Financial System
Tax System

I'll give my answers later, after a few people have weighed in.

I´m sorry but I´ve never understodd this thing. Why wait? So let me tell you, if you leave your answers maybe I´ll give you mine.

Which system in our United States
Well you see...

*leaves thread*

Well, ok I´m a bit harsh. I apologize. I´ve an anooying headache so I´m not in the best mood. Interesting questions. Maybe I get to them later but I´m not giving any promises.

just for funzies

Q. Do you believe in (any) God?
A. No.
Next 3 questions are meaningless.

Q. Are you anti or pro abortion?
A. If the chick wants it to live or if she wants it to die is immaterial. Either way it's not my choice.

Q. Death Penalty?
A. Kill 'em. Obviously they couldn't afford good enough lawyers so they're a burden.

Q. Right to Die?
A. There are no rights. BTW, surprise! Everyone's gonna die.

Q. Animals Rights?
A. If people have no rights, why should animals?

Q. Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?
A. Well, America has been sold piecemeal, so who exactly are you referring to by "our"?

Good googly moogly. Ok then. ME first? I reckon!

Do you believe in (any) God? Yes - I believe in a "creator of all things" - some call *him* God.

Do you practice a religion? No - I used to be Christian; born/raised Baptist, saved as Pentecostal - but now I'm more "naturist" than anything else.

Do you believe in Heaven? Yes. There has to be a place better than this.

Hell? Yes - but not the *fire & brimstone* kind. More of a "hell on earth" kind of a believer.

Are you anti or pro abortion? I guess I should have worded that one a bit differently - I am pro CHOICE.

Death Penalty? Hell yeah! some people just need a'kill'n.

Right to Die? Absolutely. If I have a horrible disease of which there is NO cure & the rest of my days will be lived out in pain & suffering, I don't want anyone telling me that I cannot check out early.

Animals Rights? 100% yes!!!! - I like animals more than most people I've encountered.

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?

While I believe they ALL need overhauling, the one that needs it most in my opinion is the TAX system. Educational system a close 2nd, with health following 3rd.

I answerd honestly 29 minutes before your "me first I reckon". :P
Do you believe in (any) God? No, I believe in Evolution 😉
Do you practice a religion? No
Do you believe in Heaven? No
Hell? No
Are you anti or pro abortion? pro choice
Death Penalty? Against-by the very fact of having the death penalty as a punishment means that enivitably innocent people will be sentenced to death along with the guilty cos the justice system in any country isn't perfect. I don't think it's a worthy sacrifice of innocent lives just so we can kill the guilty and I don't think taking someone's life is really the answer cos there's no remorse or rehabilitation.
Right to Die? Yes-it's your life, you choose.
Animals Rights? Of course. Humans are just another species of the animal kingdom, so I don't see why we should see ourselves as more worthy.

Do you believe in (any) God? Yes
Do you practice a religion? No, i divorced(or what word is) from church this year
Do you believe in Heaven? Yes, of course
Hell? Yes, it's the place where people like me go
Are you anti or pro abortion? Both
Death Penalty? Death
Right to Die? ????what does this question mean?
Animals Rights? I don't get this either

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul? Can't ansver, never bees to US

Do you believe in (any) God? I'm agnostic, so I can't really answer this.
Do you practice a religion? I was raised Jewish and celebrate the holidays, but I almost never go to synagogue.
Do you believe in Heaven? I'd like to, but overall, I think the idea of heaven sounds a little ridiculous. If there is, in fact, a heaven, I doubt it's an actual, physical place; I'd think it was just a permanent, happy state of mind.
Hell? Not really.
Are you anti or pro abortion? Pro, but I can definitely see why people would be against it.
Death Penalty? Yes, but only under the most extreme circumstances.
Right to Die? Oh, absolutely. I know I'd rather be dead than suffer for the rest of my life.
Animals Rights? Yes! I don't see why anyone would be against them.

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?
Healthcare or education, but if I had a knife to my throat, I'd say healthcare.

Do you believe in (any) God?
No

Do you practice a religion?
No

Do you believe in Heaven?
No

Hell?
No

Are you anti or pro abortion?
Pro Choice

Death Penalty?
Anti Death Penalty

Right to Die?
If they want to, why should they be forced to suffer, we put beloved animals down in the same circumstances

Animals Rights?
Yes

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?
Health Care System

Right to Die = Assisted Suicide

Animals Rights = animals not used scientifically or hunted or treated cruelly

Thanks for making that thing clear. I thought that Right would mean always The opposite of left. Maybe i should listen more at English lessons....

Lol. Yeah that´s right (erh, sorry) it can be very confusing. Right is also the opposite of wrong. I need to ask, as some fins (how do you say "people from finland"? Now I´m embaressed) speak swedish, do you?
Do you believe in (any) God?

I believe there is a god. I also believe in evolution. They are not fundimentally opposed as suggested by someone else in this thread.

Do you practice a religion?

I was raised Christian, but I'm not too happy with organised religion on the whole.

Do you believe in Heaven? Hell?

I'm not to sure about this. I believe in the soul, but I don't really know about Heaven and Hell. I wouldn't rule out an afterlife though.

Are you anti or pro abortion?

Very anti. I would never say I was pro-life though. That is so patronising to people want the choice.

Death Penalty?

Definately not. I don't care what someone has done, the death penalty is wrong. Lock them up for the rest of their life, but killing them isn't justice. Plus, innocent people die. You can't pardon someone who's dead.

Right to Die?

If the person is of sound mind, then yes. I think they should have the choice.

Animals Rights?

Animals should be treated with respect, but I wouldn't become a vegetarian. Medical research is fine in my eyes too. It's all nature. Cosmetic testing is disgusting though.

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?

*sigh*

Alrighty then! - what's the friggin' word for someone who "believes in nature" as a religion?

Would that be Wiccan??? :lmao:

....naturalist?? I think that's the proper term. But I might be too drunk to know it. (and I'm not even drinking today!) Ba-da-bump!

Ok... serious now... PANTHEISM is the view that everything is of an all-encompassing immanent abstract God; or that the Universe, or nature, and God are equivalent.

Nature as a religion is Neo-druidism. A branch of neopaganism.
I shouldn't post. I shouldn't post. I shouldn't post.
Remind me of this later.

Do you believe in (any) God?
Do you practice a religion?
Do you believe in Heaven?
Hell?
Those first 4 kind of all group together. I believe in a higher power. I can't say what. Maybe Aliens. I believe in something after this life, I don't believe in Hell, but Heaven maybe at least in the sense that the people I love will also be in that after life...even if it's just an eternal dreamlike state.

Are you anti or pro abortion?
I used to be anti-abortion, until I moved to a town that had RAMPANT teen pregnancy and apparently, were told that abortion was wrong. Almost every week on the news there was another story about how one of these young parents had left their kid in a car, locked them in the snow for punishment, crushed their head in a vice....and it suddenly occured to me...abortion is a LOT more kind than death after 5 years of torture. If you REALLY don't want a baby, by all means I'd rather you end it sooner rather than later.
Death Penalty?
Nope, don't believe in it. Not for the murder's sake, although killing an innocent man is an issue. More for his family's sake. If someone killed one of my kid's, I can't imagine how I'd feel. But, turning around and doing the same to some OTHER person's child, brother, father...hardly seems right. In fact, the other family would have it worse because they'd see it coming for YEARS. That's torture and not to the person who did the wrong, but to the people who care about them. That's just not right.
Right to Die?
I think if we can put down stray cats for little reason, surely we can let someone CHOOSE how they wish to die. My Grandpa was just told that at somepoint they'd have to stop giving him his meds and he'd drown from the fluid in his lungs. That's just mean.
Animals Rights?
Yup. My animals are nicer than I am!

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?
Political System
Justice System
Educational System
Health Care System
Financial System
Tax System
It's all intertwined.
First and foremost, I think we need to TAX THE CRAP out of the companies who have moved their call centers from the US to New Dehli. They aren't paying them squat and it's taking away from our economy. If you don't do 85% of your business there, your call centers shouldn't be there. Move them back here, give people jobs, and they'll be more health care.
Education is VITALLY important. The school systems just stink. They push these kids to learn EXACTLY X amount but pay no attention to how kids learn differently. Yes, we're behind Japan and China, but they don't have as many kids as we do (per family). The lower income less educated have more children than the higher educated and, let's face it, we're just not THEM.
Teaching our kids to learn and use their imagination is the key. Learning 2+2=4 is good, but finding new and better ways to do things is FAR more important. Teach the kids to use their imaginations and that they can succeed whether they're "book smart" or not, and we'll have a FAR more successful country. Work to our strengths, not our weaknesses!

Reminder: You shouldn't have posted. :D
Do you believe in (any) God?

I believe in a higher power, whatever that may be. Though my Mother's family is predominantly Wiccan so we're heavily influenced there, but it's not like we ever officially say a God. I think my Mom got it in one when she says 'Leave it to the cosmos' and that's how I generally feel about things.

Do you practice a religion?
Raised a Wiccan which meant sabbats, celebrations, Halloween, the whole shebang. Though we did Christmas and Yule, because you just can't not do Christmas. It's too cool. But I'm terrible for keeping up with these things. I will remember sometimes that it's Beltane and light a candle and some other random things throughout the year, like I'll try to do something Springy on Imbolc if I can remember, but other than that no. I'm terrible okay? Haha

Do you believe in Heaven?
Yes, but my belief of what heaven is seems to vary from everything else I've heard. I kind of believe you all get your own personal heaven- what you want it to be like. If you want to be reincarnated, you'll be reincarnated, if you just want to see your loved ones again, you'll see your loved ones again. If you wanna be a ghosty to watch over those you left behind or you know just for kicks you can do that too. And what heaven is and looks like is up to you too. I mean it's Heaven, the Eternal Reward so SHOULDN'T you get to decide what happens?

Hell?
There can't be one without the other is my thinking as regards to everything. So it's the same for heaven and hell. It's strange though- generally aren't demons an easier thing to believe in than angels? Why do we find it that much easier to believe in something bad than to believe in something good? Strange...

Are you anti or pro abortion?
This is a depends situation. In general no, but if you know the baby is going to be born with a life effecting defect that will cause them pain and agony then perhaps abortion is the best option. But to abort just because it's inconvenient? Definitely not. If it was so unconvenient you shouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place. So it all depends, though generally I don't like it.

Death Penalty?
I can't be bothered answering this question as there are too many varying factors and I can't answer this question without going into each and everyone of them. The film "Gone Baby Gone" had a line that similarly relates to this and which I will give as an example as something I agree with "If you mess with kids, if you torture and mess up a little child then you don't deserve to breath one more breath". I couldn't agree more with that statement. But there's always a chance you've got the wrong guy so an innocent man could be on death row and then we start off into the debate....

Right to Die?
Yes. If someone's in so much pain they want to go, then aren't we violating their basic human rights buy not allowing them to make that choice? I would rather allow a loved one to go peacefully at their wish then have them drag on painfully and undignified to the bitter end.

Animals Rights?
Hell yeah. Does it need more explanation? Though I don't disagree with eating meat. That's the circle of life, kind of like what Mufasa said on the Lion King. 'The antelope eat the grass, we eat the antelope and when we die our bodies become the grass' and you know, we're all connected in the great circle of life. It's the natural order of things. But animal testing? Yee Gods.

I just like any post that references the Lion King!
Do you believe in (any) God?

Yes.

Do you practice a religion?

I was brought up Catholic. I don't practice as much as I should, except for Easter, Christmas etc. Although the Novena is on now so I'll try and go a couple of nights.

Do you believe in Heaven?

Absolutely.

Do you belive in Hell?

Can't have Heaven without it.

Are you anti or pro abortion?

Personally, I'm anti-abortion. I just cannot think of a situation where I could bring myself to do it, no matter the circumstance. I firmly believe there are better options available. In saying that I'm not going to preach or turn on someone who does have an abortion. Quite a few of my friends have had abortions, it's one of the worst situations in the world.

Death Penalty?

I'm against it. I think death is too good for some people. If someone has committed a crime so heinous that they have warranted the death sentence then I think they should be forced to spend their entire life in a cell. To me that's a far worse sentence.

Right to Die?

I'm torn on this. In one hand I would hate to rot away with no hope of recovery, I'd like to die with dignity if I could. On the other hand who is to say when the point of no turning back is? Also, I feel it's a little too much of playing God. What I do believe in is DNR, it's natural but yet on your terms.

Animals Rights?

Honestly I haven't thought about this too much but I do thik they should have certain rights.

Do you believe in (any) God?
Do you practice a religion?
Do you believe in Heaven?
Hell?
Since these are so intertwined, let me give a quick rundown of my current spiritual crisis. I was raised Southern Baptist, decided I was really nondenominational Christian, and lately I'm not sure. I've been considering visiting the Catholic church in town (I think ritual is very comforting, if nothing else), but I get nervous about going into new situations by myself, so I keep not going. I think I still believe in God--I'm pretty sure SOMETHING had to get everything started--but I'm not sure if he/she/it really sees us as individuals and meddles in our individual lives. If not, it would kind of make religion pointless, wouldn't it?

Are you anti or pro abortion?
This is another tough one. I think way too many abortions are performed because people are irresponsible but don't want to live with the consequences. Yet I know that at this point in my life I'm not ready have a child, and if I did become pregnant (despite all the precautions I've taken to prevent it), I would have to seriously consider it. And then there's the incest/rape/life threatening thing. So . . . neither? Both?

Death Penalty?
Absolutely. If they did something so bad that we don't believe it's safe to EVER release them into the public again, why in the world should we let them rot in a cell and pay tax money for it?

Right to Die?
Yes. I don't think anyone should die in pain without dignity.

Animals Rights?
To a point. I eat meat (I love meat!) but I don't want to see animals abused, either. And I can't watch the hunting channel cause I feel bad for the animals.

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul?
Political System
Justice System
Educational System
Health Care System
Financial System
Tax System
All of them. As Lou already said, they're all intertwined. If you fix one, you have to fix the rest.

Danke für die Gedächtnishilfe
Do you believe in (any) God? I believe in something, and I´m raised in a society that calls it God. So I guess the answer is yes. But I´m tired of people asking me how I can believe in God. It´s not like I woke up one day and decided "Yes, Im going to believe in God." It just happened, it´s a feeling. Compare it too falling in love if you want. It´s not like you go around checking people out and then suddenly decides you´ve found the one, it just happens. Believing in God has nothing to do with logic. So you don´t need to show that fact down my throat (people have a tendency to do that). Call it supid? Well it´s your choice.

And yes, of course aliens exist! But I´m not too sure they look like we think.

Do you practice a religion? Call myself a christian but haven´t been to church the last 5 years. And I´ve never read the whole bible, only parts of it so the answer is obisously no.

Do you believe in Heaven? Hell? I don´t think in those terms. I like surrprises. And I´m sick and tired of people using them as and argument to do things. "You´ll go to hell if you do what!" Maybe, but I rather leave it up to God to decide. And the most absurded I´ve heard must be "If you only give us money you´ll go to heaven." Because that it really says is "If you give us money you can do whatever you want to. We don't care jus give is money and we´ll tell you you go to heaven." Yeah, that´s an attitude God will like if he/she/it really exists.

Are you anti or pro abortion? I´m not totally happy about it but I do see same situatons (rape for an exemple) where I´m totally for it. And we have enough parents in the world that can´t/won´t take care of their kids so why should we force people to keep them if they don´t want to? But, please do it as soon as possible.

Death Penalty? No. Are there people who I think deserves to die? Absolutely, but I still don´t believe we should do it. Does that really makes us any better? I don´t like the "eye for an eye" thing. Apply it to "normal" life and where does it end? A few years back I wrote a long post about this topic in swedish. Too bad I don´t have it. I know I felt really good about it.

Right to Die?Yes, but it shouldn´t be too easy.

Animals Rights? I love animals, well most of them. Keep the snakes away from me! But in no way do I put them at the same level as humans. If I´d get really attached to one, a pet for an example, I might save that one from a burning house instead of some random human. But we do need to treat our animals better. That should be obvious to everyone.

Now to the subject of animal testing. And I´m torn. Of course I´m not fond of the idea of torturing animals, which it can result in. I´m not saying it always is torture, I don´t know enough of the subject. But I have a hard time imagine it´s their idea of fun. But some good things have come from these kinds of tests (please don´t ask me to name them) so I´m not totally against them even if they saddens me. But many of the tests we´re making we surely don´t need (don't ask me to name those either).

Which system in our United States do you think needs the MOST overhaul? I have no idea who needs it the most. But it has it´s reasons. But if you´d like I can tell you some changes we need to do in Sweden. 😉 No, I won´t do that. But considering my job it´s pretty obvious if you knew the situation.
