"Ghetto" Faith?

What bugs me is that she doesn't speak like that in ATS s4, but she does in the subsequent episodes of s7 Buffy.

Totally. I don't like that she's like seduces people all the time in BtVS S7, but she's very mature and kick-ass in Ats S4. That includes the way she speaks too.

It wasn't really ghetto...I mean, didn't they Faith always talked like that..a little bit "dirtier" than others and a little careless? That exchange between her and Principal Wood is quite funny but the mad skills thing was an Eliza thing, it was in the commentary. So I don't know...she may have picked up something in jail but I can't see a big difference..it may be because I'm not crazy about Faith..LOL

Sorry, I hit enter by accident, and don't know how to fix it, LOL. Anyway, here's examples:

Faith: Guy looks at me, let's just say his priorities... shift.
Robin: Why, because you're so hot?
Faith: Is what it is, yo.
Robin: Oh, please! I am so much prettier than you are. Oh, and, uh, for the record, our little encounter didn't exactly change my world.
Faith: [stops grinning] You're trippin'! That was rock 'em, sock 'em!
Robin: No, no, no, no! It was, it was nice enough, you know, and-and you're, you're very, um, um, enthused, and, I think with a little more experience, you"”
Faith: Dude, I got mad skills!

Another:

Quote:
Faith: I just want to sleep, yo, for like a week!

Maybe she's uncomfortable around black people and needs to add slang around them lol 😛 just kidding but I see that she's saying a couple words but really i hear white boys from the suburbs say that stuff all the time....I wouldn't say she's talking ghetto...in real ghetto's we don't say your trippin and then go to rock em sock em after....it just doesn't work lol 😀 ....if it's meant to be ghetto then Joss, other various writers need to step thier street slang up. And if it was supposed to be related to her being in prison then that's crazy cause one thing ghetto Blacks/Latinos can't stand is white people trying to seriously act like them. 🙂 Carry on....

I never really paid much attention to this until you just mentioned this, but now, I think you're right. Might've been the jail influences...maybe. Either way she's still Faith in a sense, am I right? ... "Ghetto" Faith *snickers* Like I said a few words ago, jail influences might've poked her.

I think it was Eliza, you can see in season 3 that the writers were purposely trying to make the way she talks different from Buffy. By season 7 I think Eliza got more freedom and ran with it lol
