We really need to get them to the east coast! Dragon*Con this past year in Atlanta just wasn't enough. They will be playing at the convention "Moonlight Rising" in Pennsylvania in June, but you have to be going to the convention to buy a ticket to the concert. I think that time is a real problem for them due to school and work schedules. I am so ready for the new single and new album! Maybe that will help some. 🙂 (though I was lucky enough to see them in twice last year and will be going at the end of this month and in June.)
 
I have heard a few of their songs but have not been lucky in purchasing their album...I wish I weren't so poor...🙁

If someone was really bored they could dub me a copy and send it to me...lol...😛

Spikesgurl235 - Yeah i've seen them play, they did a couple of gigs in the UK last year and I saw them when they came to Edinburgh.

James and GotR are back!

The recordings for the new album of "Ghost of the Robot" have begun. Due to this reason some new details have been released.


GotR are recording their new album in California.
The title of the highly ancipated second work of the band will have "God Of The Radio" as title

The lyrics are made by James Marsters, Steven Sellers (guitar/keyboard), Charlie DeMars (guitar) und Aaron Anderson (former drummer).

Katie, It's Nothing, This Town and the new single New Man will definetly be included on the new album.

Unfortunateley there is not any release date available yet, but finally fans can order the new single which also inlcudes Country Live-In and The End among New Man.

Steven Sellers says: "I'm working on it 24 hours a day at the moment and it's going to be awesome."

You can currently buy it off of the band's website :www.ghostoftherobot.com I've never seen it in an actual record store, so this may be the only place you can buy it from, that and ebay.
 
Awesome, yes I also looked for it at my local music stores before and wasn't able to locate it. I'll check Ebay. Love that site!
 
Can I ask, I 'acquired' a song of theirs to see what they were like. It was "Smile", I like it but I was wondering, on a scale of 1-10 how good is it compared to their other work. Eg 10 would mean its their best song.

Yea Smile is an amazing song. That's my favorite out of all of their others. That song isn't on any of their CDs though is it?

The recording of Smile that I heard is James singing and accompanying himself on the acoustic guitar without the band. There may be a version that he sang with the band playing though, but the version that I heard really can't be compared to other songs where the whole band is playing, IMO. Smile is a very different style (more like Angel and Dangerous) than the rock numbers like Vehicles Shock Me, Liar, Mad Brilliant, Call 911, etc. Does that make any sense? I know that's not helpful in regards to what you were asking though. 🙂
 
Yea I know what you mean, cindy. Smile and Angel are two of my favorites. They are more "chick/love" kind of songs. But for those of you who are really into rock the other songs are great too.
 
Screen Vampire to Stage Ghost

Top telly vampire James Marsters is heading to Coventry in search of fresh blood.
The star of American TV shows Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel will be flying to the city as soon as he finishes filming the climax of the new series of Angel in Los Angeles.

Californian-born James plays British bloodsucker Spike in the international television hit which is broadcast on BBC 2 and Sky.

Spike has become a TV favourite after romancing vampire slayer Buffy, saving the world and fighting for his soul.

James is looking forward to finding about Coventry's nightlife when he heads to the city in May with his band Ghost of the Robot.

He is the lead singer of the indie rock band and they are launching their forthcoming European tour with a concert special at the Colosseum Nightclub in Primrose Hill Street on Tuesday, May 4.

The tour will also take the band to London, Berlin and Amsterdam.

James, who is a self-confessed fan of British music, said: "They really know their rock music in Britain and we have some great audiences. I used to be in a band in high school that was inspired by The Clash."

Ghost of the Robot sold out across Europe last year playing in London, Germany, Scotland and Liverpool's famous Cavern Club.

Tickets for the Coventry concert go on sale on Monday from Coventry Tourist Information Office and Way Ahead on 0115 912 9000.
