Ghost stories

I haven't seen a thread like this here, so I'll start it. Do you have a story of the supernatural you want to tell? Seen a ghost in your house? Had a poltergeist throw stuff at you? Or do you think it's all a load of hooey? Tell your story, or back up your opinion if you are a believer or non believer!

I've never seen a ghost. I'm not sure they exist. Mrs. D's family on the other hand believes in the supernatural, and my monster-in-law (that's what she is, really!) claims to see ghosts on a regular basis, including the one she calls "The man with no face" who heralds a death in the near future...

So, what have you seen? And do you believe?

I'm an non-believer so far. I believe only what I experience myself, & apart the story of this ghost in my boarding school that I invented for fun, I never heard of any ghost.

I don't think they absolutely DON'T exist. I think there might be something, like I believe in waves (hmm, not sur how you call it in english, it's only the translation here) ya know, the invisible thing that make you feel like sommink is happening somewhere to someone you know.
You can't touch it but after I experienced it many times with members of my family & friends (last time last week btw) I finally believe there is sommink tho I can't explain.

But for ghost, well I really WANNA see one, I mean, REALLY, that's just sommink I'd like to experience, but so far, I never did so...
 
There's always a shadow that can be seen in my house. For example: three nights ago I was going down the hallway and I swore I saw someone going into my brothers room, but no one was home. Other people have supposedly seen it too, but it could always be my shadow or a reflection or something. I'm a type of person who believes things when I see it and have proof. That's why I don't believe in God. So, seeing something out of the corner of my eye isn't proof. However, I do believe there are some things out there that we don't know about yet.
 
I dont believe though I have to say that one saturday afternoon, I was in the kitchen making a sandwich and the butterknife fell off the table, I picked it up and placed it back on the table, I turned my back to get something out of the fridge and the knife fell again. Allright so I figure I must not have put the knife properly on the table so I grabbed it and held it as I was getting the stuff out of the fridge and when I turn around the bread was on the floor. Now I was like what the f is going on here? As I stepped in this one spot is was unusually cold. I was a bit nervous but after that nothing else happened. It was a bit strange and kinda nerve racking.
Later that night in an unrelated incident I heard a voice yell get out and the floors started bleeding, I wonder if the house was trying to tell me something. ::rolf::
 
Its not that I don't believe in ghosts, I've just never seen one. Some of my friends have said they have seen dead relatives in their homes shortly after they have died but I just think that is wishful thinking. Like they want that person to be there so much they actually get a glimpse of them.

But I'm a bit chicken when it comes to ghosts and cemetarys. I can watch horror films but I don't think I'd want to be around to see the real thing...lol...
 
I've seen the ghost of my grandmother, and I also visited a medium where I was 'visited' by an old friend whom the man described as a grandfather figure and swore alot - I never knew my grandfather as he died before I was born, but my mother was a home carer and I became close to one of her clients who became like my grandfather....and he swore like a trucker.

A friend of mine (well he became a friend after I went on his tour) runs this 'ghost tour' on Edinburgh's Royal Mile City of The Dead where there is a poltergeist in one of the tombs (you can read all about the people that go on there and things that have happened.) I have heard noises, got bruises and even been knocked out. Although I don't go on the tour anymore, they get a lot of tv coverage and i've done 3 interviews for them, with the fourth coming soon by Kids Discovery channel in the states.

Which means like Buffy herself I seem to spend a lot of my nights in the graveyard.

I wasn't sure I'd get anyone with more than a strange occurance or two...but k.o.ed by a ghost...much too spooky for me!

I went on a Ghost Tour in New Orleans...it was fun, and had lotsa history, but it was kinda thin in the ghostly scary department...this one sounds really creepy!

Its actually happened twice, once during the tour at night and the second time I was standing outside the tomb with the tour owner during the day, can't recall why we were in there and I went down again.

That's just downright scary...I don't believe, but if that happened to me, I might change my mind...
 
I went once on a class trip to somewhere in like Vriginia (I was 15 or so, didnt care about history, unlike now) and we went to an old spot where a civil war battle was held. I didnt see anything but I remember it feeling rather eerie, nothing I could put my finger on but I just felt very uneasy. I was reading about this place a few years back and apparantly everyone feels that way. They sent some psychic investogators or something but no proof was documented. I guess that kinda counts as ghostly.

has anyone gone to a place that they heard was haunted to see if they could see anything?
 
I've had some small experiences that could be, but there's an explanation for all of them. But I do believe ghosts might exist.
I hate being alone in my house when it's raining and windy outside, my whole house sounds like it's gonna fall down, and I keep hearing people walking everywhere, but even though it seems scary when it happens I know it's only the wind and an old house! lol

I know the feeling you're talking about...had it a couple of times, but I've never seen anything, thus the unbeliever status. When all us dwarves went to New Orleans, we went by Anne Rice's house in the Garden District...I know why she set her books in NO...even in the day it was gothic and spooky, and I can imagine what it is like at night...***brrr***

BTW, Dr M., you might wanna call a professional about that bleeding and yelling problem in your house...I can't see that as being a good thing...😉
 
All the years of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Charmed have caused my friends and I to develope an interest in the paranormal. The first place we're heading to is Liquid Assets! Believe it or not, Liquid Assets is a strip bar! A go-go dancer supposedly died on her way to work and has been haunted the place for a couple years. Nothing to majorly haunty - orbs, people being pushed by unseen forces, soda gun being knocked in the air, drinks moving. I'm currently seeing if Allycat can do something with photoshop to see what the pictures are of in these pictures, http://groups.msn.com/NorthJerseyParanormalResearch/gogobarinvestiagtion.msnw. A famous psychic, Jane Doherty did some investigation. There's a clip of the ghost on her website, www.janedoherty.com. It's right on the main page.

Upon looking at the MSN website I noticed something really weird. Go to the MSn link and stay on that page. Look at the third picture. Doesn't it look like a nose and an open mouth, kinda like the bottom half of a face. Do you see it.?
 
I believe in ghosts not because i've seen them or anything though i mean there have been some wierd stuff that has happened places where theres supposed to be like the Victoria Theature in ohio its supposed to be haunted and you do wittness some strange stuff there... but because there could be things out there that we just dont know about ya know?
 
Ahhh, ghost stories are cool even if they are myth. I haven't seen one myself, but since I do work at one of the biggest theme parks in the world (Disneyland) I hear a whole bunch of them. My favorites are the ghost boy in the Roger Rabbit Ride who people say just runs around the ride from time to time, the robot that occasionally flips people off in the Innovations ride and the ghost of Walt that haunts the Haunted Mansion turning some of the robots backwards. Funny stuff you hear around the park.

Cool! The irony of Uncle Walt haunting the Haunted Mansion is truly delicious!

Hero: The Ghost Roadshow...sounds like a real hoot! But read Faith's posts ^^ about nasty headknockers, and be careful on those tours...

It's funny, I work in a 37 yr old auto plant, and we've had some mighty grisly deaths in our time around here...I work night shift (like right now) and most of the lights are out and all I ever see are raccoons, stray cats and millwrights (they're spooky, let me tell you...ok, that's a trade joke, you can ignore it if you want...). You'd think we might have some kinda weird stuff happening...
 
Who said anything about going on a tour? We're going on our own. We're loading up with cameras and all that stuff. There's tons of places in New Jersey that are haunted. Like, 20 minutes or so from here, behind Menlow Mall, there's an abandoned mental institute that's supposed to be haunted. I'm kinda scared about going there, though. There's a magazine called Weird NJ (off the website) that's about people who go to the haunted places like we do. The people that went to the mental institute were walking inside and this one guy says "dont look up" naturally the writer looked up and he saw a big whole in the ceiling and there were 12 people staring down at them. Naturally they got the Hell out of there, but that makes me wanna go there less.
