I've just noticed something when thinking about the Giles and Lorne characters. They seem to have a connection with each other at least when it comes to the latter part of their personal arcs. In S4-6, Giles has dealing with the feeling of uselessness as the Scoobies began growing up and developing lives of their own until he came to the conclusion that he needed to embrace a life of his own for their good and his. It looked like Lorne was going through the same feeling of uselessness through S4-5 and tried to still be of use to Angel and the gang but doubts about the effectivenss of his psychic reading ability and the personal toll of a couple of tragedies in his life (ex. Fred, may she rest in peace) ahd the fight aganist evil made him see it was time for him to move on. Giles and Lorne both realized that sometimes one needs to let go of things when it's that time.
What do you guys think? Do you see this similarity between Giles and Lorne?
