I began answering this, regarding their youth. Then remembered the rules regarding family friendlyness and felt very much like a polar bear in an antiques shop. I have no fingerspitzengefühl for the American standard of this. Let's just say that I can easily see them having been intimate when younger.

Giles is one of the male characters that it never strikes me as ever being sexual with another man. No matter how much I squint, I can't see it happening.

Ethan, yeah, for sure, but not with Giles.
