Giles Spinoff?

Hey,did anyone else hear about this??

I read on tvtome.com that,airing in July 2004 on BBC-2,there will be a Giles spinoff.

Anthony's show, which will be a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, revolving around his character Giles, is now set to start filming in May 2003 for a July 2004 premiere on BBC-2. It will air on UPN the following September.

Did anyone else hear about this??Has this been confirmed??Also,would/will you watch it if it airs??

I remember hearing about it a while ago, I think that it was going to be called "Ripper".

They were all set to make it, but all sorts of stuff got in the way and they never did... At least that's the way I understand it.

Ripper got stuck in pre-production hell. Joss was up for it, Tony Head was up for it, the BBC were up for it - I can't remember which US TV company were involved but they obviously weren't as keen as the others.

It sounds like it will be eventually made but it's low on Joss's to do list...

I'd watch it.. i always wondered what Giles' secret was cause i remember once he took of his glasses and looked at the tied up demon and the demon said he'd speak.. and before he was refusing to.. i was like woah, who IS giles! lol. I hope they do make it 🙂

Every once in a while, when shows in the States are on a break, we Europeans get to see eps first. Admittedly, the last time I know it happened for sure was when the last few eps of Firefly were shown here in the UK before they were aired in the US - oh, and going back a few years, we got some eps of Babylon 5 before the US. But it's a once in a blue moon thing. I've a vague recollection that at least one show (can't remember which now) was held back from airing because we were close to catching up and overtaking eps broadcast in the US.
