Gilmore Girls Waffle 3.0

Apparently a season 9 could become a reality, according to some sources Netflix already accidentally leaked the info . I d be right into it meself, but I d prefer a longer 10 hour season .

I recently got some fancypants broadband package where I get zero bandwidth streaming from Netflix . For the first time ever , I ve become a subscriber because it's become cheaper to have it than not 😀 .

I had another viewing of 'Year in the Life' over christmas , enjoyed it quite a bit , warts and all .

Out of curiosity I started streaming the widescreen rejigging of the original series and I ve been bewitched all over again . It seems pretty damn sympathetic to the original cut , the sets in season 1 look especially charming . Finally I can see all the healthcode violations in Sookies kitchen . 😀

The actual characters don't always look as good as the TV cut to me . I dunno if I m seeing it right but I swear there's brief focusing issues sometimes that have been touched up , but I m no judge of technostuff . I m still on season 1 at the moment and looking to savour the experience for a month or two . I might even get the complete DVD re-release down the road , if I enjoy the whole run .Then I can upscale the arse off it 😉

Matt Czuchry (Logan Huntzberger) has a new show that might get renewed, and the baby is probably Logan's but I guess he wouldn't be part of the show?? Honestly, I'm terrified of the baby storyline. I'm 100% confident that if Amy Sherman-Palladino tries her hand at an actual baby storyline there would be no redeeming the show or the characters.. It would probably be Rory being a terrible mother, Lorelai an overly involved grandmother, and Logan either being a shitty father or completely unaware of the existence of the baby. Essentially, it would be an insult to good fathers everywhere because ASP believes they're a myth and also doesn't know good parenting in general.

IDK but the chances of season 2 of AYITL being good or better than the first season are so so slim.
 
There's been a few recently. I'm a big fan of the show, more so the first four seasons. Still need to finish the comeback.
 
Personally I could live without Logan and his entitled chums 😀 Also with him , I thought Matts appearance and range of expression had changed so much , he was barely recognizable as the swarmy charmer Logan in the retread . If push came to shove , perhaps he could be recast for the odd scene .

I do share your concern Carrie, about quality . I would be gutted if it turned into another succession of fanservice callbacks . Also I did feel 'year in the life' was a suitable ending for the series . It's hard to see how Emily could get a better curtaincall .

There's definitely more mileage in Chilton and in the Hollow , in my opinion . I doubt there'd be any shortage of Gilmore alumni to fill the screens with wonder .
All I d really want, more than anything , is for them to continue with the Gilmore 'house style' .At times 'Year in the Life' is magical , for me . In my opinion it only falters when they depart from that arty template into generic stuff .
 
I want to love the idea of more, but honestly, though A Year In The Life isn't the worst I've ever seen, I was so disappointed in the characters overall and the "humor" (the on-going ones like the 30's something joke, the Paul joke, what?!) that I kind of dread it. I thought it got worse when I re-watched it.

If Rory had been different I think I would've been on board. Maybe.

Just listened to Graham's autobiography, and it seemed like AYITL was a long time in the making and just kind of happened by sheer luck in the last moment!
