I just thought about this today, and forgive me if it's ever been brought up before, but...
I was watching a S5 Buffy ep today and heard them talking about how Glory was one of 3 hellgods who ruled back in the day. Since Illyria was supposed to be kind of the same thing, do you think the writers meant that they were 2 of these 3, that they ruled alongside one another?
What do you think?

Wasn't Glory from a different dimension, where as Illy was from ours?

What EB said.

Glory ruled in a hell dimension that was never named and Illyria was an old one who ruled over the area that is modern-day California.

Could have been interesting to find out the two other gods, but there was know narrative for them to appear in the show I guess.

Ooh, my bad. I thought they said Illyria was a hellgod like Glory. 😛

Would have been interesting to see them face off, though. 🙂

I one time posted a topic on who would win a fight between, Illyria (after she was depowered) Glory (without the Dagonshpere around) and Jasmine (without her blood involved)! I can't remember what kind of responses I got as it was a few years ago!

Why? I thought Jasmine was great because it was the total anthesis of what Angel was about=The Fight! We all wish the world was a better place, but at what cost? I think it's really riveting television. I just hate that Cordy had to get hijacked for all that to happen. However, what else could Joss do. Me and my brother are watching this season and in like episode 7 he was like "Charisma is looking heavier" I told him she as preggo in real life and last night he learned on the show as well.

However, I totally respect your opinion my friend! 🙂 I just really missed Cordy in Season Five!

yeah, i thought the idea of jasmine was really cool--the whole "at what price?" storyline, but i missed cordelia. i hated that it was through pregnancy. especially since they had just done darla's. i thought it was really cliche and old and i hated evil cordy.

I think it would of been a heck of a lot more dramatic if it was Doyle making the argument to sacrifice freewill for peace rather than Jasmine.

I mean, Angel didn't even like the "good" Powers that Be. But if that argument came from his best friend who died to save him...
And I believe that was Joss' original intent before Glenn died.

That would have been better with Doyle! I had not heard that. Do you know how that was gonna play out?

No idea. I wish I did. David Fury said the plan was to have Glenn come back as a Big Bad in S4, but since he died the arc was revised. I don't know if even Fury knew 100% of what Joss originally envisioned.

But yeah, it probably would have been one of the best moments of the show if Doyle and Angel confronted each other about enforced peace vs. freewill. It would have been like an even better version of Cordy & Lindsey's returns in You're Welcome!

I hated Jasmine and the way the actress played her. I hated how mooney eyed they all got over her; I thought it was sooooo lame. The rumor was that Charisma was preg and wanted a lot of the season off so she could rest/be with her baby, but still get paid and apparently put up a big stink about it. She supposedly pissed some people off and that's why they wrote her out of the show. 🙁
The whole Jasmine thing came about out of the whole reason I stopped watching "Angel" intially: Connelia. *shudder*
I respect people's opinions who liked the Jasmine storyline, though. 🙂

Oh I agree the whole Conner/Cordy thing was beyond gross but what were they to do with her pregnancy, she was looking big in Apocalypse Nowish!

The whole Doyle thing has peaked my interest. So basically, Doyle was gonna be bad and then Glenn died. So then Cordy was gonna be the Big Bad and she got preggo. So they had to go with Jasmine! Talk about having to revise! WOW!

If thats the case im glad things worked out as they did. I cant imagine Doyle or Cordy being able to pull off playing the big bad. I thought Jasmine was a really good big bad.
What was Jasmine anyway, a god?
