Go ask Malice.

Yes everyone will get so lost in our denial that it will become their denial, and because everyone is believing it it will be real!

Everyone, no matter what ANYONE says, 'Go ask Malice' IS CANON! There's plenty of proof, come on, remember Faith's comments about her boyfriends to Buffy?
Huh huh?
They totally match her boyfriends in the book, don't they?!

Yes!! Plus her watcher and Kakistos!! We need to draft the book into canon!!

I was going to say that believing this book is canon would be better than the fanfic writers who get so wrapped up in their own writings that they come to believe they're canon - but now, I'm not so sure...

Very good point! It is better... It was officially published, people pay for it! I am one of them. 🙂 I bought and read the book 100% believing it was canon... Which it is... *Shifty eyes*

Yes as did I. Because in our minds it is!!! :You_Rock_

'My new best friend' :grouphug:

:magic: *Go ask Malice magically becomes canon*

The guy who wrote it Robert Levy, any chance he's not busy and could write more? 😉

I love the little wizard! 🙂

Just for us! Maybe if we ask super nicely? You never know.. We are devoted...

I remember being so excited to read this book. I read it in like, a day you know. But I think it's not that long anyway, the writing is... Bigger than usual novels. Probably because it was written all journal like.

Which you know, supports the evidence to it being Canon! Is there any other Buffy novel written in journal form?

:: Looks left and right, just incase someone shouts THERE IS! ::

I wish there was!! I think I loved this just for the reason that it was a series of Journal entries.

Everything In Faith's point of View, and how she saw it, not how it was for the people around her.

I'm sure if we actually saw the backstory on screen it would be different because it wouldn't be in her POV.

So why not just say this is canon because it could, she has said in the entire journal that she could be making it all up 😛

So why can't it be!!

Yes!

And you're right, it'd be so different if it was on-screen, not quite the same effect. T'was excellent from her POV, in fact it'd be great to see more in character's POV's...

And if she was to have made it all up, it's her imaginary 'excuse' as to why she's messed up,

well, some parts of it. 😉

Because if anyone, anywhere, can declare just anything at all to be "canon", then the whole concept is out the window. Everybody's fanfiction might as well be "canonized" as well, in that event, because the idea of a body of canon works ceases to have any meaning at all - and it's quibbled over enough as it is.

Yea, she did 'go to a mental hospital' so who knows what we would have seen on screen. Definitely some could be turned into hallucinations or 'something' to work it around to make nearly everything canon!!

And yes yes yes! The POV was perfect!! I know this isn't a long book, but it's probably my favorite 😛

Plus I loved Faith! If it was a character I didn't like I might not be all yay lets have more!! haha

Yea, but if what Joss had in his mind is so close to what is written within the book, can't he himself dub it canon?

It's so close that it fooled me to be canon, it's just so set apart from all the other novels, which I also am all like 'more more', seriously not because I'm a Faith 'nut'...

I mean, starting from the fact that she had an imaginary friend anyway.

It's Joss's universe; he can call anything he wants canon. Until he does, it's no different from any of the other novels. I mean, look: people can see it however they want, but as long as the creator of a series is alive, then if anybody outside of that creator can determine what is or is not canon to a series - any series - then canon is effectively meaningless. (I wouldn't consider any of the James Bond novels written by Kingsley Amis canon to that series, either; they may be authorized by whoever happens to own the copyright now, but if Fleming didn't have anything to do with them, they're just fanfic.)

We just like to pretend, as we love it so much. 🙂 I wonder what Joss' opinion of the novel is, anyway.

It would be surprisingly lovely if he said that the book is just what he pictured for Faith's backstory.
If he actually said it was as if it was canon then we could rejoice!!
But I don't know what he thinks of it Anyone???

🙁 The author based it on knowlegde, known about Faith's life!
But yes, we would rejoice.
If I ever met the genuis, I'd ask, and recommend! (Just in-case he were to say no)

Well he did a terrific job, it really clicked with what Faith could have been like. Plus the pov was a great idea and let us learn even more about the character. I treasure this book now, I just wish it was canon! I mean It works, It really does! Maybe Joss hasn't read it! And that's why he's never said it is canon! 😛
