Go on.... Admit it

Re:

You want embarrassing? I'm an 80's child....ALL of my adolescent years were embarrassing! Anybody remember L.A. Gear, the horrible neon pink, the leg warmers (which seem to be coming back), the rolled jeans, the hair that was teased as high as you could possibly get it?? Yeah. That was me. I could upload some pretty scary pictures, but I won't because that would seriously hurt my trampish image. Hahaha. And I seem to remember attending concerts such as Debbie Gibson, New Kids On The Block....AND (wait for it)....Color Me Badd. YES. I was THAT girl. So bite me. 😉

To be honest im not sure what im afraid to admit...

I have tons of lame albums but at the same time, lame is cool! I see Barbie Girl is mentioned in this thread...i freaking love that song! How can you not laugh listening to that haha. Smurfs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Wacky Races, Conan... thats my childhood man, aint nobody making me feel guilty for those!

Barbie Girl rules! I still listen to that a lot, lol. And I'm SO not embarassed
I learned a high school musical dance routine, to cheer my niece up when she was sick. She smiled and cheered, and i died a little inside.

A friend of mine for his 18th did the *Nsync "Bye Bye Bye" dance for all friends and family to see. Good times. I still don't know why to this day, he thought that would be a good idea.

Nothing wrong with old school TMNT! It's the new stuff that sucks!

Hmmmm....embarrassing? When I was in year 7, I was Goosey Gander in our school's musical "Once Upon a Time". Limelight. Me. I had my very one solo....but the BEST part was that for the 4 shows we did, I had to wear one of those head protector things that race car drivers wear to hide my hair, and I had my face and body painted white. And I had bright orange lipstick plasted around my mouth and nose (goose beak).

God, I'm so glad digital cameras weren't a big thing back then!

white avenger agrees: It's a quote from a Jack Nicholson movie, EB. Get over yourself.

'Get over yourself', what a silly comeback!
With the best will in the world, its impossible to have seen all the movies and remembered all the lines of dialogue so yeah, I didn't click that it was reference. Its not even like we were discussing Jack Nicholson, or his movies, so IF I took it as a direct comment at me, there it was.

BUT my retort was obviously meant as playful japery.

I aplogise if you meant your rep 'comeback' as following on in the jovial sense (tone is difficult to convey online - though not impossible), but the wording doesn't 'seem' to point to that.

I think, then, in light of that, I don't come here to argue with some old codger so I think it is probably just better to stay out of each others way.

Its worked thus far!

My embarrassing secret to get the thread back on topic.

Hmm, I was thinking about this last night and eventually I came to the conclusion I just don't get embarrassed.

I enjoy life and as long as I am enjoying it I like what I do so I keep doing it because I like and I tell everyone what I am doing...its what I like to call a 'pleasant cycle'.

The old coder apologizes. For some reason, I switched a line from "A Few Good Men," which I had been watching on tv the night before, with one from "Gran Torino," which we had both seen.

Just to make up for it, here's another one, from John Wayne: "The older a man gets, the harder it gets to admit he's wrong."
Combine age with sleep atmia, and it's a hard obstacle to overcome sometimes.

Now, as for another one of the really embarrassing habits that I have...I sometimes steal the dog's dog biscuits. The cheese ones are really great.

Erm, embarassing eh? 4 words: pink trousers - pink shirt. Granted, I was young, but still, I could have picked anoher t-shirt, right?
