Some of us find people more attractive when they're what we prefer. Obviously. Now I was thinking. Do I find Spike for example more attractive because I prefer the bad boys? Did that affect how I see him? This is just an example of course. But do you find that you're more attracted to characters/actors/singers/whatever, not only from Buffy, that are specifically your preferece of the bad/good boys/girls esque? Does that affect your attraction to some characters?

(I hope you understand what I was trying to ask)

I'm guilty. I love intelligent and passionate, which is why Giles' Ripper badness comes out, I turn to mush.

Spike, of course, is not book smart, but definitely has "street knowledge" and when he's very passionate, I swoon.

It's the mixture of intensity/passion and power/toughness that gets me most, when I think of specific scenes/episodes. I don't know that I would, in real life, like to play with fire, but I sure find it fun to watch😛 Maybe it's the potential for danger?

(I blame it on my mom watching the Godfather (parts I & II) way too often during my formative years.)

I like the good girls with a bad girl streak. Like the girls who are good on the surface, but below it they're like INSANE. Yeah....

IRL, I sometimes have crushes on guys who look like junkies or sociopath or are a bit badass. But I prefer nerds/geeks/otakus/shy guys. They make me go "maaaaah "

But fictionnally, I always fall for the badasses (with a big heart or almost a heart). Like Badass Wesley, Spike, Ethan Rayne, Angelus, Logan Echolls, Draco Malefoy and his father Lucius, Anakin Skywalker, Puck,...Yeah, I really have a thing for badasses in FICTION

I'm that way too
I like smart, sweet, compassionate, intelligent, and sweet girls.

I don't like bad girls.

That's why I like Willow and Fred. 🙂

I definitely understand the appeal of bad boys/girls but most often it's not for me. Bad girls do seem, especially in fiction, to be sexier in general. That probably go for guys as well I'm just not paying much attention to that. Since I''m more into cute and shy I really don't care though. If we go to Whedonverse I prefer Tara, Willow, Fred, River. Penny and Sierra. Willow, River and Sierra might have/get their "bad"/dangerous moments but we've seen them all very vulnerable.

I think many in general see bad as dangerous and exciting while nice is thought of as the same as boring which I think explain why the love for bad is so big. In fiction that's no problem. Wouldn't be so sure about real life though. Not that all "bad" boys are indeed bad.

Good boys/girls all the way. Never fell for someone "bad". I never understood how anybody could think they were worth the trouble. Being treated nicely is so much better than being treated like crap.

I like my chicks to have a pulse.. most of the time. While the idea of not having one does have its appeal, I would never really fall for one.

Preference: Doesn't really matter. Each one is just a unique flower waiting to be plucked... unless twins then not really unique but wouldn't really complain about that either.

AH!! Yes, the only preference would be no grannies. No one over, I dunno.. 50?

The bad boy thing really does nothing for me. Especially because in RL, more often than not, the don't turn out of have hearts of gold.

For me I look for men who are nice but challenging.

define: "nice but challenging" oh.. challenging.. not challenged. Well, go ahead and define.. maybe I am challenging too.

It all depends what mood I am in. Some times I want a guy who is sweet and caring, sometimes I want a badass. But as for people who are my friends I like them to be "sweet and innocent" when around parents but when alone we get into all type of trouble.

Well I like both Good and Bad. For example I love Cook from skins he is a little of both. Then I love Sam, Neal and Bill from Freaks and Geeks because their good but I also love Daniel because he is a little bad. It goes that way for all my shows I guess I am an equal opportunist with both good and bad lol.

Scobro agrees: define: "nice but challenging" oh.. challenging.. not challenged. Well, go ahead and define.. maybe I am challenging too.

Basically, a decent human being who is kind and respectful but someone who pushes me too. Someone who treats me like a princess and agrees with everything I say is as equally unappealing as a bad boy. I want someone that fascinates me, and I fascinate them. My main thing is to always be learning and I want someone I can learn from and with.

William was the kind of man who was always picked on and pushed around, who was told so many times that he wasn't a man, that he began to believe it himself. For better or worse, he became associated with a woman who never really loved him, but was directly responsible for changing his life and showing him that he didn't have to be what everyone else thought that he was. Then, he met a wonderful lady who inspired him to become a better man than he ever thought that he was capable of being.

Substitute the martial arts for vampirism, and that's pretty much the story of my life. That's why I understand Spike, why I sympathize with him, and why I'll always be in his corner.

I ponder this myself some days, because I ended up marrying a guy that I wouldn't have ever considered my "type".

In my dating days, I preferred what I call alternative guys. Not necessarily bad, but the skateboarders and car guys. Of course, I never really wanted to do the marriage thing when I was younger, so when I was in these relationships and they were volatile, it didn't really matter too much. It was just in the moment at the time. There's a whole lotta other mess I could discuss, but won't. 🙂

My husband is the complete opposite of any guy I had been involved with: he's pretty clean-cut, was #1 in his class, went to Mass every week, didn't fight with me, was just a little bit cheesy, and always showed how much he adored me. So...my life plan got thrown off track and after college I found myself married with children!

As for fiction, I can place myself with any male that I find somewhat attractive. Angel, Spike, Giles, Gunn, and Riley all make me go HUMINA. Wesley not so much, though. *Shrug*

I usually go for the intelligent shy and awkward types IRL. In terms of fiction though I love the bad boy kind of thing- Tristan/Jess in Gilmore Girls, Logan in Veronica Mars, Jesse in Glee, Spike in Buffy, all of them were much more interesting to me than the run of the mill good guys. I like characters to be flawed, the ones that you have to put a bit of time and effort to like. But in real life I don't think I'd be able to stand them.

Logan is exactly it for me as well as Spike. Want to know what is weird I never really liked Jess on GG.
In RL I would take a good man over a bad boy any day! Although, when it comes to fictional characters I do have a soft spot for the bad boys with hearts of gold.
