Good or bad boys/girls?

These days I seem to be most attracted to nice, quiet, safe girls- I'll probably always have a weakness for the needy/damaged type, but I've been burned a couple of times there and have learned that I have stuff to resolve in my own life before I make myself a martyr to other people's issues.

Hell yes!

I'm very attracted to Spike because he's what I go for in a boyfriend (apart from the whole drinking people's blood...). I love the idea of someone who's funny, stands up for themselves and appears "tough" and "hard", but is also incredibly dedicated and passionate about that one girl.

It's what I have, really. In reality, it's not as simple and romantic, but I still wouldn't change it.

In RL I would take a good man over a bad boy any day! Although, when it comes to fictional characters I do have a soft spot for the bad boys with hearts of gold.

That sounds right. Through, I'm still trying to figure out what I want IRL...sigh...I'm way too old to not have figured this out yet.

Irl, I have been attracted too all kinds of people, good, bad, evil, geek, etc. However, there is a difference between attraction and having a relationship. And the relationships that I have had in my life have always been with, in my eyes, magnificent people.

However, I have been told, by friends that I seem a bit dilluded and that when I am not around these people are completely different, which leads me to believe that I seem to be attracted to the "Bad" end of the scale, even though I don't want to be.

But I do think that in the long run I will find someone who is going to be perfect for me, no matter whether they look good or bad, goth or geek, they will be good to me, and my friends and that is all I want 😀

Bad girls are pretty attractive generally, but they have to have some kind of hidden softness or they just get annoying 😀

IRL I just cannot deal with "bad" people. It's a thing. I am kind of a goody goody and I like structure and order too much. I leave room for a bit of fun and spontaneity and stuff (I'm not a robot...😛), but at the end of the day I like knowing where I'm going and who I'm going with. Bad boys and bad girls are just not for me. Even in fiction, I like the Jess from Gilmore Girls and Spike types, but they have to prove themselves redeemable before I decide I like them. IRL and in fiction, I like passionate, opinionated, and imperfect people. Probably why my favorites are Buffy and Spike 😀

Fiction-wise, I have the pretty stereotypical weakness for dark & troubled with a past. Heathcliff, Angel, Spike and such. (Side-note for the Scandinavians: "Sagaen om Isfolket", anyone?) I've also had a few real-life brushes that it's just as well never went anywhere. In real life I married a fairly sane and very decent guy.

I actually think that the idea of the dark guy who's transformed by a woman's love has done quite a bit of harm. I've seen, both in myself and others, that romantic wish of being the saviour making relationships stumble in unhealthy directions.

I've always gone for bad boys and girls....that needs to change big time in rl lol... In character land I prefer bad boys and girls gone good...hence the Angel and Faith liking 😀

I've never seen the appeal in the whole "bad boy" image. It's too much hassle before it's begun and what I don't get is how other people who have dated a "bad boy" can defend them if they've really hurt them, whether thats mentally or physically. It really pisses me off for some reason. I like guys who have a sense of humour and can be really cheeky without going too far. If you can make me laugh you're halfway there already.

I like good boys. Bad boys turn me off big time, they mostly look like show offs and unreal. Since I'm a good girl who usually spends her time reading and writing and watching TV shows, I like a guy who's like me.

In terms of fiction though I love the bad boy kind of thing- Tristan/Jess in Gilmore Girls, Logan in Veronica Mars, Jesse in Glee, Spike in Buffy, all of them were much more interesting to me than the run of the mill good guys. I like characters to be flawed, the ones that you have to put a bit of time and effort to like.

I love flawed characters as well. But I tend to find good guys' flaws more interesting than bad guys' flaws. Because with bad guys, you expect them to be flawed and they have the excuse of being "bad", good guys though don't have that excuse and that's why I'm more attracted to them.
