So what do our gamers think?

Apparently mine passed with flying colors. Whatever that even means. 😳

I don't think streaming games is gonna be a thing any time soon, maybe in a decade or two, and even then it's dependent on other factors out of their control. Playstation Now has been a streaming service for quite a few years but it is glitchy at times and only streams at a maximum of 720. Since the gaming market is dominated by multiplayer games, your speed and ping is really important. That real time lag of a poor connection causes server jumps and stutters which obviously makes the experience pointless if you're playing a twitch based reaction game like Call of Duty and whatnot. And it affects everyone's game if one person is glitching out.
This is all an issue regardless of cloud streaming games, which just adds another layer of complication with the differing internet speeds and regulations across continents. Now those latency issues people have with playing games in online multiplayer will now be something you can experience in single player too!

This is actually part of a plan to reduce physical media in the games industry, which in turn will mean consumers lose more rights. You will no longer own games, but purchase licences to use them - it's already happened with digital downloads.

Meh , it sounds like a swipe for the lucrative console market . In principle it sounds great ....play on anything , anywhere . However the things that consoles do very well , ease of use and the physical user interface , need to be given similar attention if Stadia is to succeed .

They also need to be able to function in the wireless realm . Once 4 and 5G are commonplace it could be a lot more useful tool for console based gamers .
