I've been bitten by the anime-bug and it's a cruel one.

I mean we all grew up on Sailor Moon and reading the occasional Dragonball, but now...now I've got it bad.

I don't know how it started but it's infecting my soul and I'm becoming it's slave.

Anyone else out there sharing the anime-love?

At the moment I'm loving Detective Conan and Burst Angel (Jo is just pure awesome).

Not so much for the bug, but getting into the buffy comics did remind me alot about other stuff from when i was little, like sailer moon. So maybe im still waiting for the bug

Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z are the only ones I watch. Although I used to watch some of the others occasionally.

Are you not around much, or am I not around much (or both?) because I haven't seen you around for ages!

Anyway. I have only watched a few films really. Namely Perfect Blue (bizarre and screwed up but good), Akira (wasn't that into it), Spirited Away, Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (the tv series. both awesome but complicated).

Yeah I'm not really into anime. I do like the usual popular stuff like Hayao Miyazaki's films (Princess Mononoke, My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle). I can watch Sailor Moon, it's alright, and my friend made me buy these shoijo ai (sp?) shows (Yami To Boushi and Maria Sama ga Miteru, if I remember the names correctly).

I'm not really into Manga though, even though I started writing a comic that my friend – who draws manga – drew..

Then you should try Kannazuki no Miko it was really good actually. A little on the melodramatic, but I like it. Very sweet, slightly sad, but very good imo.

The ones you were forced into owning any good?

Haven't seen Princess Mononoke yet, should I hurry out to get it?

I luv me some anime! ^_^

Anything by Miyazaki (or just studio Ghibli for that matter) will do. Anyone who loves the old Disney fairytales should be more than thrilled by this.

Classic movies like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter: D all rock pretty hard too.

Back in the day I used to watch Dragonball Z and Pokémon and some of the other series that were popularised as kid's shows here.

In terms of series I've seen Trigun, Serial Expiriments Lain, Hellsing, Love Hina, Video Girl Ai, and Fullmetal Alchemist: all wonderful shows.

Best of them all has got to be Neon Genesis Evangelion. Both the original show and the movie-ending. I can't wait to see the remakes.

Yeah? How do I get a hold of that?

And yes they were kinda good, the ones I was forced to watch, lol. We can watch some when you get here if you wanna?

And yeah, if you do like the Miyazaki/studio Ghibli stuff, you should definitely see Princess Mononoke. It's not my fave, but it is great.

I was infected by the bug a while back, it sorta came with me studying Japanese and my friend bullying me into going to s anime shop with her... I tend to get obsessive about things that get me excited so it amounted to me owning I own a couple of series. since the beginning I've been a big Yuu Watase fan (Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres) and other then that I enjoy light anime with lots of humor... or even bizar anime like excel saga and Niea under 7.
I must admit that my manga collection greatly exceeds my anime collection though... I own quite a lot of series.
everything from Yuu watse oc, Rurouni Kenshin, some Clamp (Chobits!), Fruits basket, azumanga daioh, devil devil, angel sanctuary...I'm a sucker for pretty pictures! 🙂

anyone wanting to try some series I can always recommend this site, it has loads of anime, cartoons and movies to watch online...

when all my shows ended i started getting sucked into anime thanks to my friends list on lj. what made me fell bad fo rit was the fandom actually, whether the anime is good or bad, it can be mocked and discussed seriously, and it's just plain fun 🙂

JollyApe: i though Kannazuki no Miko was so bad lol, the mecha and orochi storyline was just bad.. but the girls angsting is usually why everyone sticks to the end 🙂

I love it! I watched so many animes... of course my fav are Evangelion and Death Note! 😉 hehe

Evangelion is awesome! Best thing ever.
My favourite anime series would be Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Kenshin, and perhaps Samurai Champloo.

I'm equally or moreso into manga.

i love animes! what about code geass? has anybody seen it? it's perfect. and rebuilt of evangelion.. it's out now! ^^ .... but only in Japan -.-

I've never really been into anime, just catching the occasional late night Cowboy bebop, or early morning kids anime (dragonball, yu gi oh etc).

I recently was given the first series of Hellsing, and I reckon it's excellent. I've only seen the first couple of episodes, but will definitely get the rest. I hear the Hellsing Ultimate is not as good as the original series, but will check it all out regardless.
