Graduation Day vs Chosen

So I was just flicking through the channels and came across Graduation Day part 2... Watching it I'm seeing some similarities between it and Chosen-namely in Buffy's approach to fighting the Mayor vs well, the hell mouth/ubervamps.
Arming school kids with multiple types of weapons and putting them up against various types of demons sounds awfully like giving the potentials the weapons and them fighting the ubervamps and bringers - knowing full well that there was going to be a mass of casualties in both circumstances. Yes, the potentials ended up getting full slayer strength, but initially they were just young women.
Do you think that Buffy, when creating her plan in Chosen, drew on her experience in Graduation Day at all? I've never noticed how similar the approach was before until now and am interested if anyone else has seen this too or has any other views.

It would be nice to think that she did, but there's no onscreen reference to it.

Even though I'm not a big fan of the school years, I prefer Graduation Day to Chosen, it's a more solid plot and better story.

The tactics in Graduation Day are solid military thinking. Chosen is simply a showcase of plot convenience. In Graduation Day, the people she led were ready and armed appropriately before the battle began. In Chosen, Buffy makes the inexplicable choice to open the seal of Danthalzar, enter the cavern, and wait for Willow's spell to kick in. In Graduation Day, there is solid knowledge and preparation to blow up the ascended mayor, and it works as planned. In Chosen, there is the deus ex machina ending of the amulet doing all the work.

Buffy never seems to recognize a trap. After a trap cost Kendra her life, you would think that Caleb's message that he had something of hers would be treated as such, even when Xander reminds her that it is a trap. Buffy's leadership skills seem to decline over time.
