Graduation rushed?

Do you believe gradution day 1 and 2 were rushed. I just though with Angel dieing, Buffy fighting Faith, fighting the mayor and ramdom other events that two eposode's just wasnt enough I believe 3 or 4 what do you guys think?
 
I would have to disagree, because I saw that as the point of Graduation, that it was rushed, The mayor poisoned Angel to distract her, so that meant she had to fight faith, then she had to go fight the Mayor, it was done to show the pressure put on Buffy, and how well she coped!
 
Yeah, I agree with BEG. I think the whole point of Graduation was to show how much stuff was going on at once. Like Faith, then Angel getting poisoned, Willow losing her virginity, Xander and Anya's relationship starting to change, The Ascension, Angel, Cordy, and Wesley leaving, and of course The Graduation. The episode was a big huge mess but in a good way. It's also when the scoobies go from being kids to adults.

i love Graduation Day...the whole crazy mess of things happening is one of the reasons that makes it so good. everyone trying to accomplish everything in time shows just how real students feel on that day...they're rushing around trying to accomplish everything in their lives that they know teachers and parents are expecting of them, and sometimes things get a little crazy.
 
Graduation Day was ok, but i do feel that the final scene with Buffy and the Major was rushed.. as in other seasons, we see more of a final battle, whereas we didnt with the Mayor. But all in all, it was a great last few episodes!!
 
Like other people, I think that how quickly events moved in Graduation Day helped to add to the chaos surrounding the whole event, and I think it made me even more emotionally involved in all that was happening. I could see what Buffy had to deal with.
 
Well I always thought it was a brilliant episode. To be honest I didn't really read too much into it. I just enjoyed the episodes. I agree with all of the above comments though, I think that GD was intended to be a mismatch of scenes to show how each of the scoobies were reacting to the situations they were thrown into and to show that Buffy was having a really, really bad day! All the characters gained their strength to kill the mayor and the vamps from the things they experienced in these 2 episodes. Buffy, from Faith poisoning Angel; Xander and Willow from from seeing Buffy in the coma, Angel after witnessing the Mayor try to smoother Buffy. They needed all these events to happen to overcome their fears.
 
I love these episodes. They are the finale of season 3, I think a lot of thing should happen in them, this var a very important finale, and I love (almost) every second of it. Didn't seem too rush ed to me 😉
 
I think that it was rushed to add dramatic effect and tension to wat was happening.... it kept the focus on the main points and all this stuff happened in 2 eps and thats what made this ep so good, i also agree with you guys... you all have good points... 🙂

I don't think you could say that Angel's departure was rushed. It was set up from about half way through the season that things weren't going to work out between him and Buffy so when he left it was just the end to that ongoing storyline.

I'd agree with you that Cordy's departure wasn't focused on as closely but that made sense due to the nature of how she needed to be written into Angel. Her choice to leave Sunnydale was part and parcel of her parents losing their fortune but the actual decision to leave needed to happen between Graduation Day Part 2 and City of. There was no easy way to avoid that.
 
well in my opioion the mayor was killed to quiclky.... too easy.... come on if it were me... k im like what 100? and invisable? hummmmm do i wanna become a big snake and vunrable..... hummmmm il take the dose of invincablity please 😀 and just learn hand to hand combat? oh germs might be an issue for the mayor... lol 🙂

I thought he was killed to quickly as well. I don't know how else they could have done it though.

In one of the comics there was a story between Graduation and City Of. It mentioned Cordy leaving.
But its been a long time since I read it so I cant remember much about it.
 
It's become one of my favourite scenes in the whole series-that dream scene in the apartment between Buffy and Faith that occurs when they are both in the hospital. Yes, Faith's famous line "miles to go, Little Miss Muffett, counting down from 7-3-0". But the premonitions aside, it's a striking scene of tranquility amidst all the chaos of the two-part finale. The two have just been in mortal combat with each other, and will be again, but in that moment they show their bond of both being vampire slayers.

Faith: You want to know the deal? Human weakness - never goes away. Not even his.
Buffy (wearily smiling): Is this your mind or mine?
Faith (short laugh): Beats me.
Faith: Getting towards that time.
Buffy: How are you going to fit all this stuff?
Faith: Not gonna. It's yours.
Buffy: I can't use all of this!
Faith: Just take what you need.
Faith: (touches Buffy's face): You're ready?

And when Buffy wakes up she lays a kiss on Faith's forehead. It's great.
