(I'm posting this also on some JM/Spike boards/forums, so feel free to share with others that I might miss...)

As you may already know, James did the recording/narration of book 3 of the Dresden Files, Grave Peril, last week for Buzzy Multimedia. I spoke with Joy yesterday evening, and she graciously shared a few comments about it. (As a fan herself, she knows how much we need some JM news and info, especially these days, lol.)

The recording went really well, and James was "extremely enthusiastic". (Are you surprised? 😉) Joy sounds very pleased and excited about it. It will be at least 9 CDs since it is a longer book than the first 2, so the price will be more, BUT, they will add a little "˜incentive' or bonus item to the purchase to make it even more worth it. (As if James, a Jim Butcher book, and the quality of Buzzy's product isn't enough, IMO!) They aren't sure about the release date yet but will let us know when it will be available for pre-order; it will be later than originally hoped due to the recording date being later than initially planned.

She and I both love this book, and it's a favorite of many because of the great character descriptions and development, and James apparently did a wonderful job with it. Joy commented that it was especially fun for James with the addition of new characters in that he had new voices to do, like Thomas (insert a huge fangurl *sigh* here) and Michael. Joy commented, "The way James slips into the character of Harry is like a hand slipping into a glove". (Sounds like a perfect fit to me! )

Joy said that his responses regarding his fans, and how he talks about his fans is "endearing". She commented on how he talks about "HIS" fans with "much pride". 😀

That was excellent to read, thank for posting Cindy!! 🙂 🙂
You're welcome. 🙂 Did I say how much I'm looking forward to the Grave Peril audiobook? 😉

I understand your enthusiasm. Grave Peril is one of my favorite Dresden Files
books. Let's see, there are angry ghost, red court, white court and even black court vampires, a knight of the cross, delivery of a baby, trick fairy godmother, a dragon and some other supernatural foes fo Harry to deal with. He manages ( barely ) to keep a sense of humor ( or at least a sense of irony ) no matter what is going on. It must have been outrageous work for James, He can do it, of that I have no doubt, but it must have been exhausting.

Grave Peril available for Preorder

I wanted to be sure that everyone knew the following:

If you haven't seen the news yet, you can now preorder the audiobook of Grave Peril from Buzzy Multimedia. The information, with details, are on their "Tees With a Twist" site; the Grave Peril audiobook info is at: http://teeswithatwist.com/products....57995375P24H88H112H168R64158004N1536204&c=792

As promised, they are offering the bonus giveaway item that you get with your audiobook: a special Dresden t-shirt if you preorder your copy by December 26th. The GP audiobook is a little more expensive than the first 2 in the series, but, of course, it's unabridged and a whopping 9 CDs with a running time of approx. 11 hrs.

Sound clips from GP will be available in a few weeks (probably 3 because the studio is backlogged with work.) Though the audiobook won't be ready until March, the audio clips will help make the wait more bearable. 🙂
