I don't want to step on anyones toes here, but I thought it would be nice to start a thread about the people who you have come to call 'friend' because of this board.
I know I can be a pain in the arse sometimes, maybe a little caustic or sarcastic, but there are people on here who I actually really like and I'm 100% sure there are people on here that you like.
Had it not been for Buffy-Boards.com some of those people you'd never have met, maybe, or maybe you met them on another board and developed a friendship here.
Who knows.

Well, I have quite a few people (I know, me!!) but I'm not going to post them all in one post, so if I don't mention you this time, just wait longer🙂

The person I have to talk about first is Lyri.

I first met Lyri on another board with a different SN. Over time I got to know this lass and we became friends.
One day she sent me an email in regards to a post on another site, she felt someone had been unnecessarily unpleasant about something she had done and asked me to read the comment.
I read it and was quite annoyed so I joined the board with the Moniker 'Dia DeLa Muerte' and pretty much went straight for the jugular with the person.
As you have guessed by now, this board was Buffy-Boards.
I was still a little cautious about joining another forum because I had my other one, I'd enough to do on there.
I did start to use Buffy-Boards a bit more but then one day we got some devastating news...City of Angels Forum would be no more.
I had no where to go, but Lyri, again, pretty much convinced me to stay here(Buffy Summers - blame her!!!!) so I did.
Over time, our friendship grew and it became more and more obvious what a wonderful, sweet, kind, artistic and did I say wonderful person she really was.
Sadly, of recent, we've not spent as much time talking as I'd like to but she has become the kind of friend that I could not talk to for ages then pick up where we left off.
Thats about it except I have one last thing to say.

ohh well i've only joined about a month and a bit ago but its amazing how fast I get to know people! One of the first members that i got to know was keanoite! she helped me get around the boards and was always really nice to me! thanks for that! Slayer Comma The is also a great member to me! she helps me with banners and things and she's just generally really nice! Lets see theres UlaGan who I absolutely love to talk to! and palabravampiress, you are too funny!🙂 and a new member who I'd like to mention- FunnyBunny310! She seems really nice and i hope I get to know her more!

Although I've mentioned only a few i think everyone here on the boards are great!🙂 Buffy-Boards is a great way to make friends in my opinion!

I second Lyri.

Aly-kins is one of the kindest, gentlest people I've met, online or not. She's extremely helpful and tolerant. I highly suggest any newbs coming in here to go to Lyri for help, because she will do her best to guide you.

I can't even remember when Lyri and I started becoming close friends...it might have been through the RP, playing as Spike and Gwen. Lyri listens to my ideas and rants with vigor and laughter. Hell, she even expands upon my ideas, making me think in ways I wouldn't have initially. She knows I might be a bit insane and she doesn't care, and that's something I love and appreciate. She's my other half, my co-creator [as much as I am hers]. We create together, and that means a lot to me.

Anyway, thanks, Aly, for being my INTARWUBZ sistah and taking me as I am. You're the Isabel to my Raven. 🙂

I'd also like to mention VisionGuy. VG is just nothing short of a badass - he's got a mad sense of humor and constantly makes me laugh. He's a pimp, the life of the Merrick Party. He's a fantastic mod and a good listener. He's witty and gets my apparently odd sense of humor. He helps gives me recognition when I need it, and helps me out when I have weird questions about random stuff.

Without these two, Batshoot Insane would not exist, and I would not have damn near as much fun here as I do. These two make BB for me, and I love them both for it.

I think that's it, for now. I know of a few more, but once I find the right words I'll post again.

I'll start with Evilyn. Evilyn is my adoptee and also a very close friend. She and I have shared many laughs together and I'll always hold her close as a buddy. Then there's Keanoite. Kean: You're my homie. My Hobo Homie. (Homeless people unite!) I'm so proud that you got promoted to mod and you totally deserved it. And have you gotten that fanfic done?! (LOMA!) DoI, my fellow cheese lover, you rock and are utterly hilarious. You were probably my first friend on here, and I thank you for that. Randiann, you're awesome. You've helped me out so much (from the wall to Survivor) and I couldn't ever repay you. Not with words OR money. Tru Mackney, my dear adoptee, I appreciate you for so many reasons. One of them being your "talents" (and not the pole...) and your ability to make people love Fiona Apple.

I missed so many wonderful people that I've come to know on these boards and for that I'm sorry. I just wanna let you all know that I consider every one of you on this board my friend. So, thanks for putting up with me and thanks for being the great human beings you are, because without you I wouldn't have ever learned how to use the right side of my brain. 😉

Though I love and respect each and ever one of you here ("in a very manly way, of course"), Keanoite will always remain a very special person to me, as she is, I am sure with everyone else here. Miss K is a beautiful lady, kind, and blessed with infinite patience and understanding (as she would have to be to put up with an old pain in the a** like me). She throws a mean virtual snow ball, too!

When I came here for the first time, I knew no one, but there were GATEGOD, BangelXX, PalabraVampiress, Keanoite, who were nice to me and with whom we established a conversation of some sorts. Just know, I'm all excited I met ya! 🙂 I have msn and ICQ, and email - so, I'd love to talk with you more sometimes. Besides board. 🙂
The rest of you, guys, I still get to know more.

 

[Angelic Slayer]

A great thread idea! One of the first members that really comes to my mind is Tabula Rasa! She and I randomly started IM-ing each other one night (oh man, a couple years ago now?), I think she had started an MSN thread on here so one night when BB wasn't very active I decided to add her. Since then we've clocked more hours talking I think than I'd care to admit, and she's really become an awesome friend! Always there to tell a funny story, lend an open ear, or generally just babble about Buffy 😀 She's one really great gal-- major huggage goes out to her! 🙂

Also have to mention AB101, Summers Blood, Bored of the Dead and the whole VH crew! Had some good times with all these guys, maybe don't talk nearly as much as we used to but there's been some funny memories mixed in there! And VH really is like a "BB-Home" if you will, really have to give props to all the members there that keep me coming back every day!

And of course VG, my former Buffies date 🙂D)!

Really, I just love way too many people on here! 😉 Lol these boards really have some awesome members, really glad I've been able to "get to know" so many of you guys!

Allycat was i think the very first person i met on here and really started talking to on an almost daily basis.... he helped me find my way around the boards when i was just a newbie and we became really good friends on msn and i gotta thank BB for that

also all my Merrickan housemates.... theres so many of you i cannot possibley name

Slayergal - she and i met because black eyed guy suggested we talk as in the rp she was playing sam and i was playing riley so i PMed her turns out she's a complete sugarsweety with a heart of gold

FaithyFivebyFive - Ok so Karina we just started talking like at the begining of january and already she's one of my best friends that i can always count on

I'm pretty much the type of person who only talks to someone if they talk to me first, so I don't really know anyone here. The one person I talk to most is Spirit_Of_Fred we talk all the time in PM, and, You're a really amazing person to talk to =] We have things in common to talk about, and when we disagree, it's just debating, no insulting each other's opinions or anything like that, which is good =] I love talking to you =]

I don't really know anyone else, but I do read peoples posts, sometimes talk to people in threads and such, and EVERYONE here is amazing that's all I can say. I may not know any of you, well, but I still feel like we all have a bond...well, we do, we all come on the most amazing forum in the universe 😛 And you're all truly 'Great members' 😀

I would first have to say that I love talking with all of you guys. Everyone here is so great and you all come up with fun and interesting posts and I love talking with all of you.

slayergal - one of the first people I got to talk to because she adopted me way back a few months ago. You are so sweet and it was great to know that I had someone there in case I needed any help.

palabravampiress - Well you are my adopted sis so right when we got here we started to talk. Then you got sorted into Raiden and so we were in the same house which was so awesome. We have been able to talk a lot in there which has been great. You have got to be one of my favorite fan fic/RPG writers on the board. Your posts are just Grrr-ate! I also have to say that you have the best ideas for thread topics etc. It has been great to be able to RPG with you and I mean who doesn't like playing the ultimate bad! I am just so glad to have met you.

wiccianslayer - I only just met you but you have been a truly sweet and appreciative person. I love being able to help make banners and stuff for you and you always have great ideas. I hope to get to know you better soon too!

Black Eye Guy - I just want to give you a special thanks for putting up with me in the RPG! I was so excited to get to play Dru and man you just have to put in a lot of hard work to keep it going and I just want to thank you for that.

Buffy Summers - how can anyone forget the greatest memeber on the board. The one who started it all. I am sure everyone would agree that Buffy Summers has done a great job and we are all so appreciative of all that you do to keep this board running. And a special thanks for adding all of the avatars that I sent you!! The board looks great!

I guess I haven't made 'close' friends as such but when I joined here, I really didn't know anyone, execept BoTD well when I say knew I mean if I wanted an argument with someone.....😛 anyway I second Al's sentiments reg Lyri sinse I have been sorted into merrick she has been ever so helpfull to me in arty stuff, and well has been a great buddy here. Even if I don't chat that often.

I'll have to give this some thought and then come back after the awards and distribute the personalized compliments. For now, I'll just say that I really like the Buffy Boards and everyone I've met here so far. You guys are great!

Well, this isn't really fair because I rolled myself off the couch with the flu to see what was going on. So, I'll probably forget people.

There are a few people that I'm dying to see their responses or the posts they post.
Palabra is one. She just has nifty ideas that make me think all day. Which is fun. And she and Vicariously discuss my soaps with me, which is double good.

White Avenger always makes me laugh.

TabulaRosa is my self made Roomie....always a delight! And she has an evil cat just like me! So far, no sign of an Evil Hand...I like that too.

I do have to give props to Vision Guy, Blondie Bear for consistantly answering weird questions I have in such a nice way!

I just love Keonite.

And extra pats on the back to Nerd4Hire who has been my saving grace at times. Always has informative posts, VERY good at posting links. I'm never worried that I'm getting substandard information! It's quite comforting.

I'm sure I forgot about half the people I was thinking of putting up here, but I'll blame the Dayquil and hobble back to the couch to think.

I'm sort of with Buffy obsessed fan and Angel's Vision in terms of feeling on the outer in terms of not having really 'close' friends on the board. I'm also not the sort to just suddenly chat to peeps, but that doesn't mean we're not nice! 😉 Anyway I still do really enjoying coming here and reading, posting, helping out. The posters I enjoy looking out for would be Nerd4hire, Allycat, white avenger, Tabula Rasa and a few others. I'm also enjoying hanging with the girls and occasional boys in Drogyn, like Jade, XDrux, StuckinTraffic in particular. They've been great.

My special mentions...I can't go past TC who makes me laugh like no one else can and who steals my goat and encourages my cheese plans....Basically, all my Merrick Family because they just rock and put up with way too much of my crap. WA for making great posts in the Social Studies section. I'm sure there's plenty I could mention but it would take me all day to list them so I say thanks to everyone for being great.
