Well first off I think everyone here is just great!!! Everyone is so nice that is why I keep coming back to the boards all the time. As far as individual members. I remember a couple of members from when I first joined that I talked to a lot. Nix and Jenny they are so sweet and kind. Nix and I had something in common we were both very pregnant at the time due a month apart from each other. Jenny who had a little one was so nice often checking in with me and offering advice as it was my first pregnancy and I was so scared. I really appreciated that. Then I met my house mates in Raiden. You guys are a blast to talk to! Each and everyone of you! The Chosen for all your kind words when I need it. Thanks for wishing me a Happy Mother's Day last year and for wishing my son a happy belated birthday. You don't know how much those things meant to me.

i suppose i will proceed with al next, as he made this wonderful thread, and, well, guilted me into it with his rep :silly:. (i was getting to you, honest! 🙂)

if i couldnt remember back a few weeks, i CERTAINLY cant remember back a few years, but i think its definitely a safe bet that al, a.k.a Bored_Of_The_Dead (or BOTD......or Dia_De_La_Muerte.....or DDLM 😛) was the first one i was having real conversations with on these boards. he adopted me in the 'bad eggs' forum, and we started talking from there.
wow, so much to say about him. well, to start with, he wrote a fanfic, which i read, and was definitely cool. it was post-angel season finale, but it referred back to all the characters i loved that were gone (those that i knew at the time, and some i didnt know yet, on account of i hadnt seen all of btvs when i read it. i should probably read it again now, or at least the parts with the characters i didnt know 😀). i believe it won an award at the Buffies some other year. he has other fics too, but they are yet unfinished.
to continue, he has a great sense of humor, which can sometimes seem rude to some people, but i know many other BBers and I love him for it. it is just classic al 🙂.
we both share a love of lilah as one favourite angel character, and tara as one favourite buffy one. i think once we had a conversation detailing exactly why tara was awesome. al has great insight and input, which is another reason he is awesome. (al, if you're reading this, which you probably are as this is your thread🙂, we should talk about why lilah is awesome sometime. im amazed we never have).
my one regret about al is that he doesnt seem to check his PMs or PM very much (or at least not mine and me), and (i believe) just likes to instant message, so i have not talked to him in a LONG time 🙁.

but, digressing, al still totally rocks. :woot:

I'd like to second palabra.

I've sung her praises to many a Merrickan - ask Lyri and VG. I am constantly astounded by her writing and her roleplaying. She has such a way with words that I'll never possess, and for this I both love and envy her. She becomes her characters when she roleplays, does her research and knows her shit. Her stories are absolutely fantastic - the dialogue, the description, everything.

To add to that, she's approachable and bubbly and just generally fun. We haven't really talked a lot, but I really admire her. The Andrew Award was well-won.

I wasn't going to post on this thread but I just wanted to give a shout out to a few people. A little sort of 'thank you' for being there over the years. 🙂

I've seen so many come and go during all the incarnations of the boards, and for me, it's been 9 years going back to the first one, but there are a couple that are special to me, and to my husband.

Faith & Buffy Summers - We have been through so so many things together. We've laughed together, cried together, had endless MSN convo's, owned boards together, staffed together on several more, had births and sadly, deaths.....interesting banner competitions *cough*, board wars, (we can just blame Buffy as she's always the ringleader 'lol'), that no matter how long it is before we get to chat to each other we just pick up where we left off, which is just great! Both myself & Andy, or 'SAndy', (as we are the two who are the one), value your friendship above all others. 🙂

We love you both, and are glad & privileged to call you our friends! 😀

I'd also like to mention Lyri, Mr. Pointy, elmo - all wonderful people whom I'm glad to know!

Lee & The First Evil (sadly no longer around here) although we email TFE regularly.

There are also alot of folks that I wish I knew better, but then that's my fault for not making an effort to get to know them I guess. 😉

OKay. Great Memebers of BB. Wow....this list in my head goes on and on so I think I'll try and simplify it.

I'm going to start with some members that I havent seen active in a long while. Faiths5x5 and Ment Patient. I truly miss these two. When I first joined BB I always talked to Faiths5x5 everyday one stop. We always discussed topics about the same sex and were always in the game threads. Thats how I met Ment Patient. I guess playing games was our way of communicating.

Now....my Merrick family. If I were not in Merrick I think I would actually die. everyone has these different personalities but one thing in common. Our craziness. LOL. Lyri, VG, AB(EPL), M-R, TR, D4, DG, Kean, TC, BB, WS, Faith. I can say I love you guys! You're my big wacky family!!! lol

I wanna give a shout out to a few members of this board who are very dear to me.

Angels baby101 and ana8 are absolutely awesome people and I consider them amongst my closest friends.

Faldor is just hilarious and a wonderful person to hang out it.

I have great respect for the admins too, although I'm not sure I show it enough. But without Buffy Summers are her loyal followers we wouldn't be here.

I always look forward to any posts by Nerd4hire, because they're always clever and insightful. The same goes for many of the other people that regularly post in the BS8 and AAtF sections.

There's probably a ton of other I'm forgetting right now... but fret not, I love you all too 😉

Oh and ofcourse everybody in Drogyn rocks!

I'd have to say Faith. I hit it off with Faith almost from the start. I found out that we have an awful lot in common, and not just our taste in guys lol. I'd rant to her when I'd had a bad day or someone was getting on my nerves and she has told me the most hilarious stories. I don't text her as much as I should. I'm terrible with mobile phones, but she is definitely a really good friend. NIX is another good friend (although I didn't know about the name change lol). She made me my very first banner for this board and its a banner I've only change a couple of times. After that I used to pm her every two minutes asking for more of her art work and we just got on from there.

I miss Jacklyn, she was great. We were sort of known as the ''two J's'' or something like that, I can't exactly remember. And Rayne was another really amazing member, along with Lee. Frenchy Faith is another member I think is really cool.

There's probably loads of people I've missed off, but those are the ones I can think of for now 🙂

Right, I'm gonna lump all mine in one post *smiles brightly*. However, my memory can be terribly awful so the ones that are mentioned here are the ones I've just recently spoken with so expect me back several times more going 'Oh yes and suchabody!' haha.

Right, first off:

Bangelxx: I just love her, she's such a sweetie. I just want to mother her all the time, hehe. Plus she graciously gives me a regular ego boost as regards to my artwork and how can I *not* love the girl for that?

Palabravampiress: I think within a day of us both joining and posting on here I realized our brain-sharing capabilities. How many times have I come to a thread to find she's already posted my thoughts? God damn her. But she's just great, very chatty, friendly, witty and I *have* to like someone who thinks the same as me. :-D. Great minds think alike after all....

Keanoite: Another one of my 'First Friends'. Just an amusing and very friendly girl. And totally deserving of her 'promotion' to mod. Love her.

Mr.Pointy: You amuse me. What more can I say? Randomly sarcastic yet at the same time entirely enthused....

WiccianSlayer: Another sweet chica. Always there for a friendly chat and she puts up with so many of my rambles and politely tells me I'm not rambling (Though we all know that's a big fib, haha)

And my fellow Drogynites whom I have come to realize are all completely insane and remarkably competitive when we smell even the slightest hint of a challenge. Hehe.

We have become pretty great friends on bb and I hope that we can progress to out of bb friends and then be lifelong friends. It's not impossible.

White Avenger I think you were one of the first people to really interact with me. Who would have guessed 3 months later we would end up here? No matter how great our differences and lets face it they are pretty great, we still manage to keep our sense of humour and have fun. I love our banter, not just with Bangel and Spuffy but with whatever we happen to be chatting about. Also, I really appreciate how you would back me up in whatever when I first joined and how you continue to do so now. This place wouldn't be the same without ya🙂

VG I'm almost afraid to say anything here for fear for how much your ego will expand but in the spirit of good will i'll take my chances. Well first off you adopted me! I know you regret it now but tough your stuck with me! Seriously though you were always so helpful but it kicked up a notch when i was made a mod. Anytime I needed some help you were there. Between that, Merrick and MSN I think we have gotten to know each other a lot better. You are so funny, your sense of humour may not be as cruel as mine but you always keep me laughing. I don't think people outside Merrick and modage really get the ful benefit of your charms! Best Headboy EVER!!!

Palabravampiress One of my first friends here on BB. You are freaky smart! your writing astounds me everytime I read it. You just took RPG and ran with it! and when I decided to get involved you were endlessly helpful and continue to encourage me. We haven't spoken as much as I would like but when we have the strenght you have within you has been abundently clear, I have major respect for you on many different levels. My favourite thing though is how even though you are tough as nails you turn to mush at the mere mention of your hubby! Unbelievble lady.

Slayer Comma The I think we joined on the same day and kinda clicked then and there. You are a joy to chat to and debate with, so smart and just a genuinely nice person who is gona be a kick ass mom! (although not literally cuz thats wrong!)

To me, one of the greatest members is PV. Friendly, caring and attentative to her adoptee, I just felt right at ease with PV instantly and knew that if I had anything I wanted to know, I could ask her. I know this could seem like a first-timer just putting PV on the list because that's who adopted her, but not at all. PV's tops in my books!

wow. what a great thread! tons of positive energy all around. i cant give house points, but if i could, i would give 1000 to starter of this thread.

i think my "great members" list would have to start with TABULA RASA! what first drew me to get to know her more was how positive and energetic she is in her posting. she adds so much life to the boards. and through several pm's and myspace messages, we have gotten to know each other quite well. and now a quote from the movie cars:
Tow Mater to Lightning McQueen - "I knew I made a good choice."
LM to TM - "In what?"
TM to LM - "In making you my best friend."

Next, GATEGOD! you are an INSANELY fast poster in the house of vahla ha'nesh. i have so much trouble keeping up with, but the ride is a blast. keep it up.

Next, BUFFY SUMMERS! i have alot of respect for someone that can maintain so many boards at once?! youre crazy girl. plus, we are the same age......30 going on 18 🙂

Lastly (i dont mean "lastly" as something finite because there are so many other awesome people that i have gotten to know, love, and respect on the boards) is VICARIOUSLY! she, believe it or not, lives only about 10-15 miles away from me........AND WE HAVE NEVER MET! crazy. anyway, we pm alittle here and there to see whats new.

Okay. Time for another round of compliments. 🙂

The next person I'd like to compliment is also one of the first members with whom I became acquainted: Keanoite! Now, bear with me here. I'm up late so this may not be the most coherent post I've ever written. That is in no way a reflection on Keanoite and is, instead, a reflection of my faulty judgment in dinner beverage choices.

Keanoite and I were both new members at around the same time, so we hit it off right away. At first, we always seemed to find our way into the same threads. Then we talked via shoutbox and PM. I found Keanoite endlessly entertaining, friendly, and insightful. Whenever I came online, I checked to see if she was on. Whenever I discovered a new topic, I'd think, "Gee, I can't wait until Keanoite posts. I wonder what she thinks!" When she became New Member of the Month and then a mod, a little piece of my brain said, "Aha! I knew it!" She was so friendly and polite and wonderful to everyone on the board, making us all feel so welcome and secure, that I couldn't think of a better person to be "promoted." The best part is that this is all still true. I still always check to see if she's online for a chat in the shoutbox or to have a gander at her most recent post. I think she's a great mod. My budding internet friendship with Keanoite was one of the first connections that I made here and, as such, it was a big part of why I remained and became so involved. She helped to make the Buffy Boards feel like a community. Basically, she rocks.

I'm gonna take the lazy man's way out and simply say that this is for all of you, for every single member of the Buffy Boards. You have provided me with a place to share my obsession of Buffy the vampire Slayer, you have welcomed me into your family, and you have put up with my outdated values and my ramblings of "long ago and far away" without making fun (well, not TOO much fun, and none that was malicious) of my peculiarities. Without you. there would be nowhere for a sixty year old man to argue the merits of Spuffy over Bangel, to compare werewolves to vampires, or to simply rave and rant about how Xander should have had his a** kicked for letting Cordy get away, but what a great couple Cordy made with her true love, Angel.

In my lifetime, I've been a lot of places and done a lot of things, but I've never been anywhere where I have been made to feel any more welcome than I have here. I love you all and am proud to have a place in this special family.

Well I know I haven't been around for a while but I made some great friends on here when I was active.

Firstly I'd like to mention ~Angelic Slayer~. I haven't spoken to you in a while properly hun but I read your facebook status almost daily so I still know what ya doing with ya life!

We've had some laughs.

There was once a time when AS and I were in constant contact, plotting ways to get on up on "Drogyn" ( who were the house to beat back in the day.... obviously we managed that ;-)! )

I love the way this board brings everyone together and I will return to mention someone else in due course.
