Great Movies of our times.

how about, The Saint, E.T., A Beautiful Mind, Willow, or any of the Harry Potter movies, or Grease.

Donnie Darko
I could go on and on about other movies, but it really comes down to this one. After watching it 12 times straight I really empathize with Anya's fear of bunnies. (Especially prophetic ones with maniacal grins and bionic eyes....)

My choices would be:

The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, The Lost Boys, The Crow, The Runaway Jury, The Firm,
Clerks, Dogma, Pitch Black, Pirates of The Caribbean, Shrek, American Psycho, Psycho, A Time To Kill, Good Will Hunting.

Oh, some of you had great ones : LoTR, Braveheart (Sophie Marceau is extra in it isn't she?), American Psycho, American History X

Good movies are numerous, but I'd quote "Elephant", "A Clockwork Orange", "Forrest Gump", "American Beauty", "Dances With the Wolf", "Dead Poet Society", "Lolita".

In "cartoon" Shrek (definitly) & the Miyazaki (Mononoke, Shihiro)
Btw, the top 100 best movies here, what do you think? :

Anyone's opinion about "Shine" or "Family Life"?

I can't agree with that top 100 list either. Some of the movies I haven't even seen...lol.

Keeping with the rules of the thread I need to add a movie... T2 (Terminator 2). I know it's Ahnold ::evil2:: , but it was a great movie.

brazil, 12 monkeys, the fisher king, the fifth element, backto the future trilogy , ghostbusters , galaxyquest

I thought of a couple more....Labrynth, The Usual Suspects, Top Gun, Seven, Edward Scissorhands.....I guess that was more than a couple.

WOW! LOTS of great ones named!

The Crow, American History X, Donnie Darko, LOTR, Pulp Fiction, Braveheart, DOGMA, The Usual Suspects, Good Will Hunting.....just to name a few...you all have great taste!

And here I was gonna go with those crazy, silly ones that you watch over and over just because they comfort you...oh well, one of my all time faves is The Breakfast Club...gotta love the 80s brat pack...lol...I had such a crush on Judd Nelson's character...

Where I'm totally with Faith on The Crow as my favorite cult film I have another film that most people hated but it hit me so hard...What Dreams May Come...my God it just tears me apart...it touches me on a deeper level...

...unless James Marsters ever makes a film where he just stands there naked for two hours....THAT would touch me on a level very few things ever have before...

Hmm, most that I would say have already been said...but how about Spiderman 2? Anyone seen that one? I thought it was great. 🙂

Pump up the Volume- great film about a teenager with a pirate radio station, and no one knows it's him in his HS (Christian Slater, Samantha Mathis)- it touches on censorship, pressures of society, apathy, right to an education, suicide, freedom of speech ext. It also has some great music.

American Pie trilogy- my fave is American Wedding, I think they're all really funny, great soundtracks, plus Alyson Hannigan! Also Eurotrip is funny and has Michelle Trachtenberg🙂

Other movies I love: Don't tell mom the babysitters dead, Ever After, Poison Ivy, Heathers, The Craft, Clueless, Body Count

How the Godfather trilogy is #56 in a serious list of the 100 best movies ever is beyond me. Though I'm glad Quills is there. That movie is so underrated.

How no one has mentioned Dark City in this thread is also beyond me.

Faith you seem to be into the horror movie scene. And I can respect that as a big horror movie fan myself. But then again you also listed some kind of fan-girl movies also ex. potc. But I thought I would just commend you on some good recommends. Good job.🙂
