They inherited Kevin Feige, and he's apparently taking her with him. Now she can be the most powerful Jedi knight in the Star Wars universe. Unfortunately, they are still talking about making "Captain Marvel 2" sometime in the next two or three years, so I guess the MCU hasn't seen the last of her yet.
 
Well, Star Wars is a Young Adults franchise aimed at teenage girls, now. She may be a good fit. And frankly, why do Marvel in Space when Star Wars is in space? My only concern is, did the Sequel Trilogy's rule against being pretty get repealed?
 
Frankly, if I were forced at gunpoint to choose between Brie in Star Wars or Natalie Portman as a female Thor, well, I'm choosing Brie.

Mind you, that's only at gunpoint. 😛
 
I like Captain Marvel, and Brie Larson. I remember when she was young in the Disney Channel movie Right on Track with the girl from 7th Heaven. I don't get the Brie Larson hate. I'm also not a big Star Wars fan so I don't care who they cast, let's just see if it turns out good or not.

I already know it will be mediocre. Watchable, but I'm not spending money to see it. I don't say that because of Brie, but because of how Disney (mis)handles Star Wars. And I was so excited when Disney first got the rights, but now so disappointed

I can only speak for myself, but personally, her statements about not caring what white male critics, or apparently fans, think of her work is a put off in the same way that being "put in a basket of deplorables" is, but I can usually separate an actor and the character that they portray in order to enjoy a good movie. My initial dislike of the character of Captain Marvel, as she was advertised, was that she was being written as someone who would just totally overwhelm Thanos the same way that Superman did Steppenwolf in "Justice League." Why bother to have a team if one character is stronger than all the others combined? After seeing "Captain Marvel," however, I simply found the character to be shallow and uninteresting. (my opinion only, and I don't expect everyone else to share it)

I can support an actor who I like, even in an occasional bad role, and I can like a particular character, even when I don't particularly care for the actor playing the part. But when it's an actor I don't care for, portraying a character I don't find interesting, that's just too much for me.

Ah ok, yea the last two star wars movies we're just "okay". I'm gonna rewatch Force Awakens and Last Jedi before I go see the new one. I like The Force Awakens, but I'm also someone who loves Revenge of the Sith. lol. But star wars doesn't really excite me, I just enjoy them. So, I can see how an actress like Brie Larson isn't going to get people more excited for the franchise.

I liked the Captain Marvel movie, but after rewatch that and Wonder Woman, I realized why it wasn't as good of a movie as WW. The character is a bit uninteresting. I don't think we every really get to know the character and it's just a paint by numbers Marvel movie, which I still enjoy.
