Greatest TV Actress?

OK, so I was wondering who you all believe is the greatest TV actress of the last 10 years.
You can use someone that has been a film star BUT you must be refering to her TV character.

I have seen alot of TV but in my honest opinion, beating all the ladies of Star Trek, Buffy, Angel, Desperate Housewives, yadda is the one, the only Claudia Black.

Not only is she beautiful but she is fantastic.
If I had only seen her in Farscape she would be on the list but probably not at the top, but this woman, with her Character Vala has totally revitalised the last 2 seasons of Stargate possibly making her my favourite character of the show.
Stargate always had a comical theme but there was a time when the show became a touch staid, then this woman, and a nod to Ben Browder, made it great again.

Well my choice would be Summer Glau oddly enough. And no it's not due to any bias I may have. It's just if you watch her as River she is incredible, she can go from one emotion to another pretty much at the click of a finger. She can really act insane and wonderful and damaged and that's something that not a lot of people can do. It's just incredible because when you meet her and you talk to her she is just the complete opposite of River. Anyway that's why I pick Summer!

This is a tough choice, I don't think I can choose just one. My top choices, though:

*Mackenzie Phillips from "So Weird"
*Gillian Anderson from "The X-Files"
*Eliza Dushku
*Kristen Bell from "Veronica Mars" (see sig). She is totally EXCELLENT. Sometimes she gives me goosebumps (I swear, it's from the performance)

And I know there are lots of others, including Summer Glau, but I'm too tired to think that hard.

Since we are going by acting, and not just by HOT-ness....... I would have to say:

Jennifer Garner. Alias was one of my favorite shows, and it was because of her. She was excellent in her role as Sydney Bristow. I miss the good old days of Alias 🙁

Alias is one of my all-time favorite shows and I love Jennifer Garner a lot, but sometimes she didn't do THAT great, especially when she was supposed to be intensely angry or something...

argh.. i have fav actress'.. but i dont know who the worlds best one is.. i think Charlize THeron is amazing.. every movie she is a completely different person and plays each character so well! ... same goes with Nicole Kidman. Dakota Fanning is amazing.. shes like... what? 11... shes really talented! and then there are my fav actress list here which i think are obviously good as i wouldnt like em'

If we had been going by favourite my list would be different but going on acting ability I will stick with Summer. I mean I love a lot of other people more then I like Summer but when it comes down to it she is the best when it come to acting!!! And not because I like her charcter , it really has nothing to do with that. It s her ability to become someone that is so completely different from herself!

Granted some of the list are TV actresses BUT the 'Movie Stars' aren't part of it...plus you put Debra Messing on the list which totally devalues your list.
She is OK, JUST OK, but no where near the greatest actress on TV.

Summer Glau isn't bad, BUT to say she is your choice for Greatest TV Actress, thats shocking. You need an education on TV my friend🙂
And please, please PLEASE don't say your reasons are unbiased, of course they are.

I love Eliza Dushku agrees: Well, she was nominated for emmies for "best actress in a drama" for 4 years in a row!

And of those 4 nominations, how many did she win?
I don't know the answer to that and really not in the mood to search.
Having said that, being nominated for or even winning an award doesn't mean squat.
Look at Bareback Mounting or Titanus, they won a shed load and in absolute honesty neither are anything better than mediocre.

I'm not sure, I love Summer glau. She is brilliant in anything I've seen her in. Garner is also pretty cool in Alias.

But I think one of the best female actors on TV is Kate Walsh, Adison from Greys Anatomy, She is flipping fantastic, and quickly became one of my Fav's.

See, i've never found Summer Glau attractive. She has a flat face and a nose that pops out annoyingly.

Claudia Black is a marvellously funny actress. Sexy too🙂
She made one show fantastic to watch and saved another from going down the pan.
I don't know many actresses that can say that.

PLUS, she made Pitch Black bareable.

I'd like to add Brenda Bakke to my list. Haven't seen her in much but I am loving her in American Gothic. And Gina Torres, based on her work in "Alias" and "Angel" and "Firefly".

Kristen Bell.
She's simply the best in my mind. She can give the best witty, funny scenes and also give heartbreaking scenes that are wonderful.
Lauren Graham.
She's a great actress and rarely gets any recognition for it.
Alyson Hannigan.
Not only was she great in Buffy but she does the role of Lily on HIMYM spectacularly. She even made the not so likeable character of Trina on Veronica Mars likeable. She's wonderful.
Caroline Dhavernas.
Even though I've only seen her in Wonderfalls, I adore her.

Mine would be Patricia Arquette for her role in 'Medium' - I think she's superb as Allison Dubois.

Oh, and also not forgetting Kristen Bell, I love the way she plays Veronica Mars.

Actually, Claudia really would be my choice for best tv actress. Her work on Farscape was just excellent.
