Hi, everyone!
So, the basics: I'm a Maths student from the UK, who generally prefers procrastination to doing any kind of Maths. Thus, my love of forums.
I got into Buffy around 2002/2003, I guess, though I've only recently got back into it after a few years of sort of abandoning the fandom- I read a book from my local library (think it was from "The Gatekeeper Trilogy"), and enjoyed it, so read more, and watched the series when I could. I've seen most of Season 6, all of Seasons 2, 3 and 7, bits and pieces of 1, and a couple of episodes from 5- I'm intending to catch up on the rest of the episodes in pretty short order. Season 2 is my favourite of all the seasons I've seen so far, Season 7 probably my least favourite. I've also seen all of Firefly and bits and pieces of Angel.
I've noticed a lot of shipping talk going on on the boards, from my reading, so to get it out of the way, my favourite 'ships are:
Giles/ Jenny (chiefly responsible for drawing me into the fandom, was intrigued by all the guilt Angel was feeling in the Gatekeeper books over Jenny, so I read up on that backstory. I'm very partial to some GJ fic and such...)
Spike/Drusilla (I love both the characters, and I love them together)
I read some non-canon fanfic ships too, occasionally. I like Willow with both Tara and Oz, and Xander with both Cordelia and Anya, but they're not up there with the two main ships. I don't really care for either Buffy/Angel, or Buffy/Spike, I'm afraid 😛 Aside from providing exciting plot points I don't get that interested in Buffy's relationships, it seems...
As mentioned, I read fanfic, some shippy stuff, and some stuff that I just find well written and enjoyable. I used to write fic, though for a different fandom.
Outside of Buffy, I have an almost obsessive adoration for "Merlin" (1998 Hallmark miniseries starring Sam Neill and Miranda Richardson), it is where all my ficly output has gone so far. I also love anime, particularly if it has some murderin' in it (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and it's sequel series still outranks Buffy, etc. in my mind). I like browsing forums and playing Devil's Advocate a bit too much, but I try and reign myself in on that. I do love a good discussion, and to meet people.🙂 I also listen to music, though am unable to play any XD Metal, folk, soundtrack and variants thereof are my favourites, but I like a bit of cheesy pop, EBM and various goth/darkwave things, too.
