we just bought the first and second seasons of greys anatomy on dvd! I've never watched it before and I just saw the 1st and 2nd episodes! It looks seems good! Do you like it?

I love grey's!!!! It's the best show on tv at the mo if ya ask me...Your gona love it really...and Mc Dreamy...*swoon*

I bought the first season on a whim one day because it was like $9, so I figured I might as well. I liked the show well enough, the weird medical cases make the show for me, and I enjoyed the second season. However, I only have season one on DVD and I haven't liked the show enough to buy any of the other seasons.

I stopped watching halfway through the third season. The show is just too much of a typical soap opera, and the fact that the cases always reflect the doctors' stories bugs the crap out of me. It's acceptable sometimes but every single episode? This is one show I'll never be hooked on, and I think it's completely overrated.

Once the fourth season comes out on DVD, I may try to start over from the beginning and see if I can get back into it, but that depends on what shows are on at the time. If the strike completely kills pilot season I probably will.

Thats what I liked about greys, it's about the doctors and their lives. The writing is great and just oh so witty.

I didn't say I didn't like that it was about the doctors and their lives. But the idea that in every episode their weird patient of the week is a metaphor for what they're going through is just retarded.

Couldn't disagree more but I won't fight ya on it but I wouldn't say it is anymore retarded than the demon of the week being a metaphor what was happening in the Scoobies lives.

On Buffy it wasn't quite as obvious. Plus it's a fantasy which makes it a lot easier to overlook.

The metaphor thing can get annoying sometimes. Like there'll be a surgery and a character working on the surgery will say how admirable it is that the patient never resigned themself to dying, they kept fighting, which is just a metaphor for that character fighting to keep their relationship with someone together.

I've only just gotten hooked to this show. I've pretty much fallen in love with it.
I just finished the second season, and about to start on the third. It can get a little soapy, but I think that's the appeal. Plus, those crazy medical cases are great, too.

NOTHING will ever be Buffy! But grey's is enjoyable, it's about the only show I've gotten into in a long while. I put it to ya this way, I enjoy watching the show but I wouldn't dream of looking for a forum to discuss it.
