I know I am kinda worried. I can't decide which show needs my help more: Grimm or Fringe. I may watch Grimm live, but idk. My desire for answers on Fringe may make me watch that one live.
 
That's not Brandon Routh is it? Sure looks like him. I'll give it a chance since its Buffy execs but honestly.....we'll have to see. The Once Upon a Time trailer looks good although mostly because I really like Jennifer Morrison from House. Actually, if they just put both the leads from each show together THAT would be interesting....and Hot! 🙂
 
Thought the first episode was brilliant, it's one of the few shows that's actually creeped me out before and that takes some doing. Looking forward to the next episode already.
 
As I said previously with "Once Upon A Time," "Grimm" seems interesting starting out, and, hopefully, it'll improve as time passes, assuming, of course, that it attracts viewers. The time slot that it occupies isn't an issue for me, since I watch more on line these days than I do on the air. It's much more convenient to watch what I want, when I want, and as many times as I want to, rather than conform to the whims of whoever schedules the shows.
 
It's so good. It's creepy and scary and I love it. I like it much better than Once Upon a Time and I think it's the stronger fairytale show. I didn't think I would... but I do.
 
The pilot is awesome! It reminds me a bit of Supernatural, and that's always a good thing. It's definitely different that Once Upon a Time, but I think they are both strong. Perhaps with Once they are going all out straight away and Grimm is holding back, more mystery and much darker. I'm hoping they introduce many more fairytales here, and hopefully they continue with the dark element, because these fairytales are dark and horrific at heart--at least the stuff I've read. Definitely looking forward to more.
 
Loved the pilot of Grimm, I thought it was something of a combination of the Buffy/Angel verse and SPN, and looks like it is already developing an interesting arc, can't wait to see what they do with it, definitely a show with potential. Once Upon a Time looks a lot like a light and fluffy version of Haven though I will check it out.
 
I watched the pilot episode on DVR, not expecting to be impressed, but... I liked it. Enough to keep watching for now, at least.

It was very, very derivative of Buffy... the Chosen One in every generation, destined to fight the monsters, with the older mentor figure who arrives to tell him about his destiny. He doesn't seem to get any Slayer-like superpowers, except the ability to see through the monsters' human disguises, but the monsters seem to be easier to kill in Grimm than in Buffy/Angel... you just shoot them a bunch of times and they die. Which kind of makes me wonder why Aunt Marie had that Angel-like cabinet full of medieval weapons.

I expected Nick's finacee to be dead by the end of the hour, and was pleased that they avoided that cliche. I expect she will probably play the Joyce role in this show, trying to make him turn away from his destiny and have a normal life. I'm guessing she'll probably end up as a member of his "Scooby gang" along with his partner Hank and the reformed Big Bad Wolf.

Depending on the quality of writers this show gets, it could be good. The pilot did surprisingly well... 6.5 million viewers in the Friday Night Death Slot, opposite Game 7 of the World Series, on the #4 network.

Buffy didn't invent any of that, though, this kind of plot is pretty much a beaten to death fantasy cliche. Plus, David Greenwalt ripping off Buffy would be him ripping off himself, more or less.

I liked the pilot. Very atmospheric. The main character is bland but I tend to watch shows more for the sidekicks anyway.
 
I was not that impressed with the pilot. However, the "funny moments" were not lost on me, I enjoyed those, very reminiscent of Buffy/Angel type funny. I am not so crazy about the lead character. I think they could have "picked better" when casting him. Love the Big-Bad, tho.

I'm hoping it will get better. I'll give it my obligatory "5-episodes" to decide whether or not I'll keep watching.

Since it's on Hulu, I'm watching it. I've liked the episodes so far, but it is certainly a "wait until the baby is asleep" show whereas I can have Once Upon a Time play during the day. I'm glad they are both on Hulu though.
 
The second ep was kinda boring me. I don't want this to be your typical precedural crime show. But then it won me over again when the main guy let the three bears more or less go, as in he didn't kill them. He's not your typical 'Grimm'. I'm anxious for more backstory on the Grimms, and I don't understand why he doesnt just spend a good solid day reading and going through all of Marie's Grimm stuff so that he knows what he's getting into. I would certainly be doing that, especially if I had all that info at my disposal.

This Just In: NBC's Grimm Gets Full-Season Order

Grimm fans are in for a full season's worth of scares: NBC has given the freshman spooker a "back nine" episode order.

"We are very pleased to be making a full-season commitment for Grimm," said NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt. "This series is turning the traditional procedural drama on its head and is attracting a loyal following for us on Friday nights. We love where it's going creatively and we're excited to deliver more episodes to our audience."
Grimm has been a rare bright spot for NBC this fall. Season to date, the show has averaged nearly 7 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demo.

In an effort to draw even more eyeballs to the rookie supernatural thriller, NBC is giving the show a special Thursday night showcase on Dec. 8 at 10 p.m

I was wondering how long it would take NBC to move it out of the Friday Night Death Slot.

I hope they start expanding the scope of the story a bit. Just doing a monster-of-the-week procedural will start to wear thin before too long.

I want to see flashbacks to previous Grimms... ones from hundreds of years ago when these monsters were still the way they are in the stories. Maybe the Brothers Grimm themselves, even.

well it doesn't sound like a permanent change, but I guess we'll see what happens. For me, I hardly ever watch shows when they air anyway. I always have to wait until the following day & watch it OnDemand since we're recording Fringe & Friday Night Smackdown & we can only record 2 shows at a time on our DVR.

I hope they start expanding the scope of the story a bit. Just doing a monster-of-the-week procedural will start to wear thin before too long.

Me too! While I enjoy the MOTW (I really liked the 3 bears!), I find the backstory much more interesting. I want to know more about the Grimms, his aunt (I think they killed her off too quickly), & what is up with his boss?! The girlfriend is bland at the moment. I do like both his partner & sidekick.

BTW, what Grimm story was last episode based on?
