Grimm - From the Executive Producers of Buffy & Angel

Some Buffy/Angel alums are going to be in upcoming episodes!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Azura Skye will guest-star on an upcoming episode of Grimm, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Skye, 30, will play a kind, mild-mannered bed and breakfast owner named Robin Steinkeller, who also happens to be a Seltenvogel (an extremely rare bird-like creature). Robin has something very valuable to many in the Wesen world, and Nick (David Giuntoli) finds her in a panic to escape her abusive husband. So far, her only protection is the strength of her turtleneck and scarf, whatever that might mean. Perhaps her neck gets cold easily?

No airdate has been set yet for the episode, titled "The Thing with Feathers."

Skye's guest turn reunites her with Buffy the Vampire Slayer executive producer and writer David Greenwalt, now an executive producer on Grimm. Greenwalt also re-teamed with Buffy vet Amy Acker for the upcoming Feb. 10 episode in which she plays a black widow.

Skye most recently guest-starred on American Horror Story last year.

Grimm airs Fridays at 9/8c on NBC.

Grimm? Ha — this news is positively joyful!

Sources confirm exclusively to TVLine that NBC’s freshman thriller has cast Angel and Dollhouse alum Amy Acker as the fearsome Black Widow.

Just how fearsome is she?
Well, most of the time, not at all — she’s Lena, your run-of-the-mill happy housewife. But, because she suffers from rapid-aging syndrome — wait, that’s not just a soap opera thing? — every five years, she has to leech the life out of three guys in three short days in order to maintain her appearance.

What? Like your beauty regimen is so much more respectable.

Anyhow, her episode will air in early 2012, so save some of that New Year’s Eve bubbly, huh? In the meantime, feel free to weigh in on her casting below. You know you want to!

I saw on Twitter today that the Executive Producers said they'd love to have Anthony Head on the show. How I would love that!!
 
It's okay - Once Upon a Time is definitely better - Grimm has some good episodes though some of them are funny when they're trying to be serious. Like the one about the feral girl - too over the top and silly for me. I'll keep watching it though, for now.
 
I agree that right now OUAT is better. Grimm is lacking an overall season story arc, so it's feeling very Monster of the Week. Hopefully they'll develop that more.

I just realized that the actor playing the police captain played Sam Adama on Caprica!!

Hmmm....yeah that's a good point. I do like the show but I would have to agree it is very monster of the week. It has a lot of potential and started off really well....I just hope the writers can keep it going. There were definately a few lines from recent episodes where I was like, uh-oh. 😉

I definately get the "Angel" vibe, which I love! I would love to see a OUAT and Grimm crossover! I think the two main characters would be great together!
 
The last episode (1.10) is a piece of genius, IMO. Sort of reminiscent of Hush but creepier, if not as stylish. I really like this show. It's dark but doesn't wallow in misery, it's witty but not sitcomishly so. Plus, Monroe is my favourite TV character from the currently running shows.
 
I just recently got into this show with my wife. I wasn't sure what to expect to begin with, but I'm liking the show more with each passing episode. The lead actor playing Detective Nick Burkhardt initially didn't mesh with me since he seemed too bland, but he's growing on me. Silas Weir Mitchell definitely steals every scene he's in though. He injects some much needed comic relief into the show.

One thing I'm not too fond of with the show though is that Nick is too much of a lone wolf. One of the great things about Buffy and Angel is that they both had their own monster fighting gangs. It was fun watching the leads interact with their cohorts and pouring over texts trying to figure out how they're going to deal with each episode's big bad. It made you feel warm and like you were a part of some secret clubhouse when they were in the Library or Giles' Apartment. Nick just has his Aunt's Trailer. Sure he also has Munroe (Silas) to help him out, but so far he's felt more like an informant rather then a scooby. Nick mainly just visits him whenever he wants info (though it was nice seeing them sharing a meal at Munroe's place). Same with Detective Griffin and Sgt Wu. It feels like there's great potential for all these guys to form their own secret monster fighting gang so Nick doesn't have to tip toe around what's really behind all these bizarre crimes and murders. It'd be cool having it all out in the open I think.

Not sure what to think of the Police Captain yet though. He kind of gives off a Mayor Wilkins vibe (minus the geniality), but I'm not sure if he's malevolent or neutral. He tried to have Nick's Aunt killed, but at the same time he cares about stopping any bad guys in his precinct and the welfare of the cops working under him.

Overall though I'm just happy there's another show that can fill the void left by the end of Buffy, Angel and Firefly.
