I wondered if anyone has seen the Grindhouse films done last years. Robert Rodrigues - Planet Terror and Quentin Tarantino's - Deathproof.
I wanted to know what you think. Reviews seem to have ripped the hell out of it. But I really enjoyed both films. Planet Terror is without a doubt my favourite movie of all time and Deathproof is definitely up their with the best.

I have seen them about 12 times each. So what do you think?

yup I enjoyed them
I watched them both, and enjoyed them immensely! I liked Deathproof better though, because of the car chase, and the stunts by that lady on that hood of the car. It's been a while since I saw it. I must see it again to remember the names of the characters. Deathproof was fantastic if only for the Dodge97!!! I love the sound of great cars.

I don't think these films should even be mocked because they were not presented as something they're not. I enjoyed them precisely because I didn't expect to take them seriously.
 
Yeah the stunt with the new zealand woemen was a good scene. I also enjoyed the 1st car crash with that music playing in the background fantastic. Also I forgot to mention the machete trailer at the begining of planet terror.

They're making the full film of Machete :) "Looks like they ****ed with the wrong Mexican!" Awesome :D
The movies were released separately here in the Netherlands. I watched both in cinemas. But even though I enjoyed both immensely, I have to say that Planet Terror was the unchallenged champion.

Hmmm..would that have anything to do with the gorgeous Rose McGowan?:whistle: She is a lovely girl but I couldn't stand her in Charmed. But in PT, she seemed to have found her niche. She was good with the dry humour. I loved the "Useless talent number ..." stuff. That has inspired me to make a list of my own useless talents. :silly:

What I loved about Planet Terror was that it was so insanely tongue-in-cheek. Dr Who would probably say, it's so ridiculous, it's fantastic!!! And the ending was shamelessly serene. As if all that mess didn't happen.
