Former Nirvana drummer and current Foo Fighters mainman Dave Grohl has spoken for the first time about his court battle with Courtney Love to retrieve Nirvana's lost legacy, thankfully.

"Everything the band stood against has been compromised by Love, and that the battle isn't worth the pain and anguish," he told MTV news.

"She wasn't in the rehearsal space writing the music. She wasn't involved in the human records, she wasn't onstage every night or playing or in Aberdeen in 1987, hanging out with Krist and Kurt on tour in that tiny van. At the end of the day, it's just not worth all the pain and anguish. God, I had to get up at 9AM to do a deposition today and it's just not worth that to me because my contribution has been made.

"The band is over and forever that music will be there. There are times when I honestly don't give a shit who's running the cash register. I'll always be the guy who played drums in the band and to me that's more important than control or power or whatever. It's just absolutely everything the band stood against and has nothing to do with why the band was a band in the first place."

Well said that man... anyway any Nirvana fans about, anyone actually care? If so, then please broach away.

I agree Nirvana was about music and that alone but as far as Love is conserned its all about getting as much money as possible.

Im just surprised that it took this long for him to speak out.

Not a Nirvana fan especially, more of a Hole fan🙄 but I think what Grohl says there is pretty true, he was the drummer, he made the music, the music is gonna be out there, he doesn't care who gets the money. i think thats the best attitude to have.People will reconize him for the music anyhow

Im a nirvana fan and i agree with him completely, it shows that he was actually in it cos he believed in making the music + not just getting paid. Although he's right that it shouldnt matter so much who's getting the money, i think courtney love should give up and just realise she doesnt have the right to try and take it away from him. As he said, she wasnt involved in the rehearsals, the song writing and all the concerts, and even if she has the control of the band's rights, she isnt part of them.

well i am a Nirvana fan they totally rocked and still do. and courtney well what can i say about her other than *insert ALOT of nasty words here* i never liked her really and she is just plain nasty. as for the Nirvana boys they are all champions and it really was about the music not about the money so, love just get over it no one cares about you and the only reason ppl know of you is because of Kurt.
so yeah thats my little peice of thingy for today
