Gross questions about Vamps .....

Right, me and my sister were watching a EP from season 5 today forgot the name of the EP
but it was the one where Riley keep going to get bit by the Vamp, and when spike goes into buffy's room she says somthing along the likes of "You risk every body party when you come in here" and it lead me and my sister to thiss gross questions.

Can you cut off a Vampire's Lims e.g Arms and Legs and they they still live? Would the Lim still be able to move, if cut off? and would the Vamp die or probs just stake himself due to pain. lol

As really you can only kill a Vamp by Wooden Stake and Chopping its head off or breaking it, i think.

Spike's hands get cut off by Dana in Damage so yes, vampires can survive without limbs. It's not like they can bleed to death 🙂 i don't think though, that the arm would move after being detatched...that's like a zombie thing I think. Well, I guess vamps do share similarites with zombies in the sense that they are human corpses reanimated with the help of a demon possessing the body..
Anyway.
And yes, it is possible for a vamp to stake his or herself...hence Darla 🙂

Yes, we see from Spike in Angel that limbs being cut off will not cause death. They won't grow back though - the healing only goes so far. Sometimes even scars are left (especially when they are extremely convenient eyebrow scars 😉)

They can be reattached too. Also, if a vamp is squashed, they will die because the head is usually detached from the body.

Yes, their limbs can be cut off and they will survive, but, even though they can be reattached, they won't grow back. And yes, some vampires do choose to stake themselves because they don't want to live without their limbs. In fact, in a season 8 comic, one vampire got his hands cut off and asked to be killed because he didn't want to suffer.

But in vampire terms and being that they are demons, where does it state that a demon's limbs will or won't grow back?

In the early films a vampire would have increased strength, better vision etc., I don't remember any 'having' to wear. A few did wear them, but they seemed to be ok without them.
Maybe Spikes limbs could have grown back, given a bit more time. Just because they didn't know, that doesn't mean to say it couldn't happen.
WR & H had a lab where body parts could be transplanted by demons, but that appeared to be for humans who had chosen to be 'naughty'.
Then there's the thought that if a vampire can be created from a dead human, a limb growing back would be a minor thing.

Actually, and it has been awhile, but I think Don Rickles vampire in Innocent Blood had asthma.. granted he died right away but I remember something being wrong with him when he was trying to eat his wife.

It's been awhile since I last watched "Innocent Blood," but I don't think that Rickles recovered after being bitten by Robert Loggia until the next morning in the hospital (more accurately, Rickles didn't actually become a vampire until then). Robert Loggia tried to bite the wife, but couldn't because she had just eaten something that was heavily seasoned with garlic.

YEAH!!! I think you're right! I just remember Rickles turning to ash but thought he was trying to get to his wife.. I need to watch it again. And it had a stellar soundtrack too!

Haha!! That would be funnie to see a Vamp who has something wrong with them, that didn't like get fixed when the turned into a Vamp. I like eveyones idea's about if a vamps lims were cut off ect, and being re attached. I havn't seen the last season of Angel since it aired in the UK
my brother never baught the box set of it so its my job to go buy it, so i cant remmber spike getting his lims cut off lol. I can't wait to watch it to see it sum up my question lol. xxx

well theoretically you could carve out all the body parts around the heart leading to the head on a vampire. Now theres a horror movie for ya. I always figured this is what Adam in S4 was doing, just playing with demons and seeing what he could do like a little kid pulling the legs of a spider. Gross.

But in response to your question, I think it all depends. I mean, in the Whedonverse I think vamps could lose limbs with no risk of bleeding to death; but the limbs would not grow back. When Spike had his hands cut off they had to be sewn back on.
But if you look back on shows like The Blade Trilogy, their limbs did re-generate. But when their limbs were cut off, they simply turned to ash.
In Interview with a vampire they led you to believe that vamps could in fact bleed to death when they slit LeStats throat....
In the original Buffy Movie, Lothos' cronie looses an arm and it never regenerates, or disinigrates.....

What always bothers me is that cut-off vampire limbs do not immediately crumble to dust. It would seem much more logical to me if they did, as the only thing that stops all vampires from being dusted immediately seems to be the demon's (un)life energy, and cut off limbs are removed from that energy, aren't they?

(Of course, if they did dust on separation, Spike would have a HARD time after "Damage"...)
