Gunn Atf. (spoilers)

Was just reading Atf and i noticed once Gunn had taken out Kr'ph's gang he
said 'You may have been together before i joined, but i trained you, plus i co-ordinated the outfits''. What? Hasnt Gunn only been a vampire 5 minutes? seriously though, wasnt this still in the first night 'After the fall'?
Hows he had time to find a bunch of slayers and train vampires into slayer killers?
