Gunn's Introduction

i just finished watching 'Warzone' two minutes ago, and i noticed something...Gunn's introduction is prue brilliance! lol

his dead pan 'You were expecting somebody else?' is something other shows would hold back until the character was more established in the show.

Gunn's intro, i think, is one of the best on either show...possibly only topped by Spike and Faith...and maybe Connor.

anyone else have anything to offer?

I love the introduction to Gunn. He was so cool in that moment. His character in season 1 and 2 was brilliant but I think that they ruined him after that.

agreed. after the second season, when Gunn joined the AI team full time and left his gang, it was like the writers forgot what to do with him. they ran out of ideas.

I totally agree....Gunn was a lot of fun in the first two seasons, but he kinda sucked after that! I also just finished watching War Zone last night, and LOVED his introduction....very well done!

I actually loved Gunn up till season 5 then i just kinda hated him till the season ending... then he was like the old gunn... but i do agree i liked him like 4 times better in season 1-2.

I loved Gunn through all 5 seasons. I dont think they didnt know what to do with him at all. I thought everything they did to his character was great. He changed so much in the 5 years. Probably more than anyone else. he went from tough guy only out to protect his family no matter what (which, honestly, you can only do so much with before it gets boring. It couldnt have lasted 5 seasons) to team player. He fell in love. He became big important lawyer guy (who'd have ever thought 😛) and so on.

Gunn grew a lot throughout the show. Whats boring about any of that? What suggests they didnt know what to do with him?

I don't think that it was a case of not knowing what to do with Gunn. They definitely had ideas for his character. I'm not sure that I personally liked him as much as lawyer-Gunn but then the whole point of that was that he wanted to be more than he though he ever could be and then discovered that becoming more actually made him less of the person he wanted to be. Seeing the real Gunn back in the last few episodes was well worth the journey he made in season five.
