Had Joyce ever accepted the fact that her daughter is a Slayer?

I know Joyce wasn't thrilled to find out her daughter is in a life threat 24/7. She said that herself that she hated it. She even suggested that Faith would replace her (seems like she didn't mind Faith dying as long as it's not Buffy. Just a side joke lol).
But slowly she started saying things like how great it is to have a slayer in the house. She felt safer.

Do you think she had ever accepted Buffy being a slayer?
 
Yes. I think she completely accepted Buffy as a Slayer. What else could she do? If not she would have interrupt the contact to Giles and forbifd her to go out of the house or she had call the police or something..
 
I find that it's a very potent thing when Joyce begins to see that the reality she wanted to believe wasn't the real reality. She kept trying to find things to blame it on, to keep her old, safe worldview from becoming invalid, but in the end she did seem to accept it. It certainly didn't mean she wanted to, but I think she was happier that her daughter was finally able to be honest with her.
 
I think hat Joyce accepted the fact that Buffy was the Slayer, because she really had no choice in the matter. It was an obvious fact. Despite that, I don't believe that she ever gave up hope that Buffy could somehow manage to "retire" from the job and lead a more or less normal life, especially when Faith came to town. That gave Joyce the hope that someone else would be able to step up and take the risks, fight the battles, and pretty much let her baby off the hook.
 
A very good point. There were also times when Buffy herself seemed to feel that way. When Kendra came and then Faith, there were moments when Buffy wanted to quit and leave the responsibility to them instead. Even before Kendra came on the scene, Buffy wanted to "quit". It's just that longing that Buffy and Joyce share for a "normal" life, but at the end of the day, The Slayer is a part of who Buffy is and she can't escape from it. Even when she went AWOL in "Anne", she still had the urge to root out the evil even without anyone telling her to.

Coming out metaphor anyone?? Or is it me being gay-centric? 😀 Joyce had to accept it because you can't deny reality forever (that's called insanity)! 🙂

I think she did. I don't think she was ever truly thrilled with the fact that Buffy was constantly in danger and why would she be? But I do believe she was proud that Buffy was the Chosen One and accepted the fact that it was Buffy's job to protect the world from forces of darkness.
