I'm really enjoying it so far. It's a huge improvement over season 4. Its actually got me behind on Angel simple because I want to see what happens next. Overall, I'm really enjoying it a lot. I'll save an indepth look at characters and themes once I'm done, but there are a 3 characters I want to comment on.

Glory- She is a much better big bad than Adam, but still I still don't like her as much as some of the others, but once again compared to Adam she is great.

Dawn- I was totally confused about her at first, but now I really like her and I hope she stays around for more than one season. The actress who plays her does a really good job and she is a good addition to the crew.

Spike- I mainly want to talk about Spike, because I'm kind of unhappy with his development. I love Spike and think he's great, but honestly he's kind of sad at this point. I don't even mind him being an anti-hero as opposed to a villain, but right now he's in this weird limbo between the two and it hurts his character.

I'm glad you're enjoying S5. I love it. Personally, I love Spike's development in S5, but to each their own. I love "Fool for Love" in particular.

I definitely agree with you about Glory being a much better villain than Adam. She's not as brilliant as Angelus or the Mayor, imho, but she's not awful.

I'm not a big fan of Dawn. She used to really irritate with her "get out, get out, get out, get out"ing. Now I think I'm just indifferent to her. Buffy having a sibling does create a new, interesting dynamic, though.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the rest of the season 🙂

I like S5. It's one of the most popular seasons, and while I think it's very well done, for whatever reason it's kind of the season I think about the least, as odd as that is. The finale is amazing though, one of the best episodes of Buffy ever.

I always find Spike entertaining. He's better in S6 and S7 though, in my books. S5 he's more than fine, but like you said, he's kind of in a bit of a limbo before undergoing a pretty massive character development.

Glory is a great big bad, but I find that post-S3, the big bads tail off a bit. I know not everyone agrees with that, but it's just the way I feel about it. I always liked The Master, but Spike, Dru, Angelus (I loved the chemistry and dynamic between the three of them), Faith and The Mayor were all major favorites for me. Glory is great though, and there are some very strong villains to come, especially in S7.

That's great that you're enjoying it, and you're right, it's a big step up from S4. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the end!
