I like atmospheric and gothic movies, witches, body horror and psychological horror.

Judging from my top 12, one would say 2010s.

Smile (2022) and Evil Dead (2013) are good?
Slashers are fun because they keep you on the edge, but at the end of the day, when I say I want to watch a horror movie, it is rarely of the slasher kind (except for the Scream franchise, but even then, my favourite aspects of the series are its whodunit nature and its satire).

4. Do you enjoy seeing horror films in the cinema?
Yes, I love watching especially horror movies at the cinema. If I look up what's on silver screen that week, it is to find a horror movie to see.

5. If you had to erase a horror genre which would it be?
Hmm, I wouldn't erase any major subgenres you know, all of them invite creativity.

That if you make one killer/ box office hit horro
r movie, the sequels will continue to kill at the box office. Not true, not all Nightmare On El Street and Halloween movies were good and box office gold. There were flops in both franchises.

Do you enjoy seeing horror movies in the cinema?
I used to then I just got to creeped out and imagination ran away with me about a killer or something spooky in the theater with me.

If you had to erase a horror genre which would it be?
The hills have eyes inbred type of movies, just creep me outdoors much and overdone in some cases.
 
It's not really a Halloween movie, but the scariest horror movie I've ever seen was the 2002 or 2003 sequel to Silence of the Lambs, simply titled Hannibal.

There's one scene in particular towards the end which was just so disturbing, even thinking about now makes me shiver and a little queasy. Probably not the best horror movie or anywhere close, but still in my mind the scariest, most disturbing scene in a horror movie I've ever witnessed.


Spoiler -- Don't read if you haven't seen it. In fact, don't read it anyway. Trust me.
If you have seen the movie, it's the scene where Hannibal Lector performs a lobotomy on some guy, cooks his own brain that he dissected, and then feeds it back to the victim.

Just about anything by John Carpenter or Stephen King is probably a good bet for a great Halloween horror movie. I really liked Carpenter's The Fog which I watched a Halloween or two ago.

And of course the Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror tradition is classic. It's worth watching the new one even when the new seasons are terrible. And the original one with the Raven is iconic.

The Fog is great. It just amps up the tension.
Best decade for horror was the 1930s. Although, the Silent Film era is a close second. No, the 1890s to 1930 are one decade in film, just go with it

The Scream Franchise, Halloween, The Invitation, Pet Semetary (1 & 2), The Shining, The Omen, The Birds, Open Water, Candyman

2. 80s probably! I love all those cheesy slasher films.

3. I don't care for zombie films at all. Super boring.

4. Absolutely! I love seeing movies in the theatre.

5. A sub genre you mean? Zombie for sure.

2) I think this is very subjective. If you like slashers, it's definitely the 80s. A lot of 'classics' came out of that decade. Personally, I've enjoyed a lot of horror films in the 2010's.

3) There's a few 'classics' that I just don't like. The Evil Dead trilogy, Friday the 13th, Rosemary's Baby, Fright Night, Night of the Living Dead, Re-Animator, and anything that has to do with werewolves. I also don't care much for full-on horror comedies like Shaun of the Dead. I much prefer psychological horror. I want to be spooked when I watch a scary movie, not made to laugh. At least most of the time. 😉 Some directors CAN mix humor and horror to my taste sometimes.

4) It's alright. I've seen most at home. I don't think it's as big of a deal as with movies that heavily benefit from a larger screen.

5) Monster features. Zombies, werewolves, even vampires. There has been so many of them. It's beyond boring and they usually make me roll my eyes. It's really difficult to make them fun again.
