Rewatched Halloween again last night and was wondering. Xander remembers all the military training and stuff, so should Buffy have remembered all the 17th Century stuff? And further more, shouldn't the kids have remembered being demons?

"So Timmy, how was trick or treating?"

never thought of that
Good points.

I think as far as the kids go, it falls under the trend in Sunnydale where people try to rationalize what they can't explain.

I'm not sure also how Buffy's knowledge of the 17th century would have any future implications regarding her duty as a slayer and a student though 🙂

But I'm curious to know if Willow got to find out about the afterlife when she was a ghost....

It was that convenient amnesia that all of Sunnydale seemed to suffer from.
Agreed! Haha the part that always gets me laughing is when Willow appears through the wall and Giles just freaks out! hahaha.. his reaction is priceless. XD

Agreeing with Cordelia, the Sunnyedalers seem to have a neat selective memory thing, can't see it not being genetic... And even if the kids did remember that kind of thing, what parents would believe them?😉

You bring up a good point about Willow though, did she learn about the afterlife at all or was strickly transformed into a ghost? I suppose you could say much the same for all the wee little vampires and other soulless demons running around, did they have their souls? And if not would that cause an odd experience as far as their memories go? But back to Willow, that is interesting.... also have to wonder if that would have anything to do with her bringing Buffy back in the later seasons. Unlikely, I know, but you never know. I mean she obviously had no troubles once she was "brought back to life" from her ghostly form, so would that have maybe helped incourage her when she first thought of bring buffy back from the dead???

Hrm I suppose the 17th century knowledge would've helped with history. ;x Good point, though. I never thought of that. *Scratches head* I just love Spike's reaction to it: "Well! This is just... neat!"

thats true.....how come xander remembers and buffy cant remember and the kids who were demmons cant eaither....??????? never thought of that before....

Totally agreeing with cordelias opinion and theory there... that would be interesting to find out and yes anya's bunny suit is sooo cute and adorable!

Yeah, I started wondering that too and you do bring up a good point. I'm not really sure though. I don't think the kids really remembered, especially the little ones.

I'm sure they wouldn't have a clue what was going on...I guess it's one of those mysteries behind Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

I think it leaves us to decide just like in the episode: Normal Again.

Possibly like Joyce, they repressed all the memories. She didnt have a clue what was going on for years. Seems to be a sunnydale thing.

Maybe Buffy did remember but what would be so important about being a 17th century girl that it would have to be mentioned again?

I agree, Buffy wouldn't really need to know much about that, unless she wanted to impress Angel...which was the general concept of purchasing the dress in the first place.

However, Angel said "Why did you think you needed that dress to impress me?"

Right there it showed to Buffy that she obviously didn't need the dress to impress Angel. Plus, with the following events about Angel turning to Angelus, Jenny's death...Kendra's death and the world being swallowed into hell, you don't really think Buffy would just take some moments to reflect on that one incident at Halloween.
