Marcus Hamilton. Child of the Senior Partners. Snazzy dresser.

I'm not sure why I loved him so. I don't know if it was Baldwin's performance or the character itself or if it was just that he was such a great change from that pre-teen looking and more importantly annoying Eve. He wasn't an especially well-developed character but I thought he was a good villain, even if he only worked for the big ones.

A couple of lines of his that I enjoyed.

"Let's be clear about this. Things run differently now. I'm not a little girl. You and I won't be making love on this couch any time soon. Now, with that in mind, how can I help you?" - Origin




HAMILTON: Why do you keep fighting? You signed away your Shaaaaaanshhhuuuuu. There's nothing in it for you anymore.

ANGEL: People who don't care about anything will never understand the people who do.

HAMILTON: Yeah, but we won't care.

I always liked Hamilton, perhaps as you say because Baldwin played him so well. We didn't get to see much of him but it was good having a W&H villain who was actually, you know, a full-fledged villain. And not Eve. Blech Eve.
 
I always like him too. Even he's evil, I always think he just does his job. And maybe it's because Baldwin played Jayne in Firefly. 😀 His acting is great in both shows.
 
I never warmed up to him, but he was miles less annoying than Eve.

Of course I'm just being totally stubborn since I wanted Lilah back 😛
 
Oh, I don't blame you. I loved Lilah too!

Blech Eve indeed. So boring and annoying. I didn't buy her romance with Lindsey. I don't like Lindsey much either though.

I think that unlike Lilah for example, he relished the evil. He was a child of the senior partners (right?) and their power and essence flowed through him so it would make sense, I think. He was very "businesslike" though so I maybe can see what you mean.

I watched some of Firefly several years ago but I think I'm going to give it a full watch soon.
 
I liked Hamilton well enough. I didn't think he was a GREAT villain, especially compared to the likes of some of the ones Buffy had to face. But yeah... Hamilton was ok for me, mostly 'cause I liked how Adam Baldwin played him.

I liked him. Evil. Nice performance. But I also miss Lilah. She had more depth.
 
Can you imagine Lilah in Eve's role? She would have dated Lindsey and had sex with Angel and gotten to stick around until the end of the series.

Well I would think (hope, to be more honest) that they'd change the story as that wouldn't suit her. Eve is much different than her. The mystical sex probably could have stayed as it was Lorne's influence and personality and all that didn't matter. But dating Lindsey would have been out of character. Plus...ew. (I don't like him.)


(Also dating probably isn't feasible when you work in the hell division.)
 
Adam Baldwin was great as Hamilton, too bad he wasn't added earlier in the final season.

The scene when he stomps Illyria in Power Play , the upward shot of the look on his face always cracks me up.



Another funny one was in Not Fade Away, when he's fighting both Angel and Connor.

They won't stop coming at him, Hamilton looks at them and asks...


"What is wrong with you people?"

God I LOVE that line. (perfectly delivered btw)

Adam Baldwin was perfect as Hamilton, stroke of genius on Joss' behalf. Also I really disliked Eve so I was glad to see someone take over her place.

But it was great to see Adam B. get to play such a role after watching him play Jayne (also excellently portrayed). He wasn't what I had expected so I was pleasantly surprised
 
Adam Baldwin was damn fine as Hamilton. I'm a little jealous of Harmony 🙂

Anyway I was going to start a thread asking, but I'll just do it here. Where can I find some good promo pictures of Adam Baldwin? I have the one photoshoot where he is wearing the black and white shirt and jacket but can't seem to find any others that are decent quality and large.

Adam Baldwin is almost constantly my wallpaper and I've just made myself a new one, but using the same photo shoot for different wallpapers is getting a tad old!
 
I can't get on board with Hamilton. He reminds me of Caleb - a last minute character written in to give the show a bit of violence. I don't think the character was well thought out, and he doesn't really add much to the show. I know Eve is well hated, but I don't see him as an improvement. He's just a non-entity to me.

Though he was well-dressed, I concede.
 
I loved him and I still don't know why. Like it's been said it could just be Adam's performance. He's amazing. I liked that he'd do all these bad things and not even flinch, cuz it's his job.

And awwww... I liked Caleb. Well, I HATED his guts but I liked hating him. *nods*
 
Eve was there and I did not mind she was not the best but I liked Hamilton. Maybe it was how he looked so clean cut and then had no problem pulling a can of almost whoop a** on Angel in the finale. I like the actor and think he did great and remember him which is good considering he was not around all that long.

Hamilton was a good character, he just came in waaaaay too late in the show and I kinda hope that if there had been another season, they wouldn't have killed him so fast. But I just couldn't help but feel like it was a copy of Agent Smith in the Matrix movies ;P Cleanly dressed but kicking ass while keeping a straight face. He only lacked the sunglasses lol 😉

Oh and did I mention he was so much better than little puny Eve?? God...

Oh, a question. Something that constantly bugs me in the Buffyverse. Hamilton is immortal, right? Yeah, until Angel drinks his blood and snaps his neck. Hey, just like he just did a few days previously to the 'immortal' Drogyn.

If Angel is busy killing immortals, what does 'immortal' mean in the Buffyverse? I mean, my dictionary seems to be wrong, I guess...
 
Immortal means they don't age, there's a difference between immortal & eternal!
The Senior Partners are eternal, Angel is immortal. you get the difference?
