I just got into this series and I was wondering if anybody else is fallowing it! I'm almost done the first season and it's by far the best criminal type show I've ever seen, the writing is absolutely brilliant!!

Any other fans out there?!

Also since I'm not done please put spoilers up if you're going to talk about the ending 😛

Yeah, I marathon watched the first 7 episodes when it was airing (I waited cuz I thought it was going to be crap - soooo wrong)

It's a brilliant show, and I agree by FAR the best cop show. I was very impressed with NBC for putting it together, it is a very un-network show, definitely had more cable/American Horror Story leanings.

Brilliant cast, awesome plot, love it doesn't just rely on the movie to draw you in, love how it's shot, and I found parts of it really creepy - I can't remember which bit, but I remember jumping at one bit while watching in the dark, and I love a show that can do that.

I'm really glad it's a mini-series, can't wait for it to comeback!

I love The Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon, and I think Mads Mikkelsen is a great actor. However, I haven't watched the show yet, but I'm planning to. It looks really promising.

I'll admit I also thought it was going to be crap, even after people told me it wasn't I still thought it was going to be crap. Needless to say, my opinion of the show made a 180 as soon as I saw the first episode. I'm just hoping now that s2 will be just as good! I agree with the rest of the post also! Just everything about it is brilliant. I didn't think a show could ever make me empathise with a serial killer, but dam I like every character on screen, even the bad ones. I'm most surprised by Hugh Dancy. It's the first show I see him in and I love how he portrays Will.

You won't regret this! I'm a big fan of the original Silence of the Lambs, and I like this series probably even more.

I didn't know of this new series, but loving "The Silence of the Lambs" and "Red Dragon", and after reading this post, I went looking on the internet, and found out that it has already been broadcast on Italian TV... then, thanks to Blaze, who managed to intrigue me, I literally dipped in a marathon non-stop, and in just four nights, I saw all thirteen episodes. Absolutely fantastic, I didn't think that I would have liked so much.

This show has managed to fascinate me immediately, since the first episode. I also love all the titles of the episodes, absolutely brilliant 🙂 and I love almost all characters. Abigail is one of my favorites, while I viscerally hate Freddy Lounds 🙂

Great cast, including Gina Torres, and among writers there is also David Fury. Mads Mikkelsen is just amazing. Its Hannibal maybe I like also more of Hannibal by Anthony Hopkins, who, however, was absolutely superb. Will Graham it's extraordinary and Hugh Dancy is really very good. I can't wait to follow the second season. Honorable mention to Gillian Anderson (Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, Lecter's psychotherapist.). Among all this horror, could miss Dana Scully? 😀

Now, I ask myself: it's possible empathize with a psychopathic murderer? Well, if he it's a good cook as Hannibal it's, maybe yeah 😛

Hannibal was one of the finest things on TV this year. Utterly horrifying and disturbing and yet, so beautifully shot.

I loved that brilliantly teased mystery of the nightmarish stag and the final reveal of what it really meant was superbly handled.

As weird as it sounds, I have would actually preferred if the show had ended. It's going to be difficult to maintain such a high standard through a second season. I guess we'll see though.

I kind of agree on this. It'll be hard to maintain what they had for the first season, and what made it so good is that the characters had no clue Hannibal was the killer they were looking for. Although, I would have also been disappointed if it ended there, I would like one more season where Will is able to turn the tables around. But I highly doubt this show can go on for more than 2 seasons at the level they currently have, simply because we can't go 4-5 seasons without Hannibal being caught, especially now that Will knows he's the killer. I'm still curious to see where it leads, and maybe they'll surprise us with the quality.

I'm glad I was able to intrigued you 😛 And can I just say that I absolutely hate Freddie Lounds too! I love most of their characters, but dam is there even anything good about her? She annoys me to no end!

Also, very true about empathizing with a psychopath 😛 I mean, it's creepy to think he's feeding people human parts, but those dinners do look very good!

So Hannibal is back! Anyone watched the premiere?

I love the performances of the two leads. They are fantastic. I have such compassion for Will. And Hannibal is creepy. So so creepy. Yet Subtle.

I marathoned the first season of this not that long ago. I spent a few days terrified of under my bed. . . I can't believe they get to show some of that stuff on television. I always sit down to watch an episode with the general feeling of "I am NOT prepared!" And I am usually right.

I think I may be getting desensitized a bit though. Hannibal is cooking up a kidney and I yell into the kitchen, "Honey! I'm hungry!"

So what are you guys thinking of the second season now that it's coming close to the end of it?

. . .I had a pet pig when I was a kid. . . NEVER AGAIN!

Not sure if anyone still watches it, but I have to say that this finale was the most horrific and yet beautiful thing I've watch on TV. I actually had to look away at the end, it really pulled on my heart strings.

I just watched the finale.

It was crazy intense. The whole first half was kind of quiet but still building. Like the calm before a storm.

And then the storm! Board up the windows and hide in your basement. And even then, you are not safe.

I see what you are saying Blaze about how it was horrific and beautiful. And I think the beauty was in showing how much some of these characters care for each other.

Exactly! I was expecting to be sort of disappointing because this season had such a slow built up, I thought the season finale would not be able to surpass my expectations. I'm happy to say it was not the case! I also just loved the art style for this episode.

Now I can't wait for next season
and see who is alive. I know Will survives from the book, and so should Jack. Abigail is a gonner, and I think Alana might also die. Which is a complete shame because she's been one of my favorite since the beginning.

Yeah. This show is always shot so well. Images just stay with you long after you've seen it.

Along with the "This is my design." line.

Did you watch until the end of the credits for the bonus scene?

I heard that we won't get a resolution to the cliff hanger until the second episode of season three. !!!!!!!!

I am so invested in Will and I'm sure he'll make it but I too really like Alana and will be very sad if she goes. Will doesn't have that many people believing in him and even though she didn't for a bit of the season it was nice to have her back in his corner. Plus she was pretty much the only female character that we saw a lot of. . .

Yes, I did watch until the end of the credit, and I can say I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING (sorry for the caps 😛 that's just how much I was surprised). I'm really curious as to what or how that happen. We're definitely going to need a good explanation for that one.
I'm just glad Bedelia (sp?) is coming back for s3, I really enjoy her character!

I have the same feeling about Alana, I think she was crucial to the show if only because she was a female lead. If she does end up dying, I really want to see more of Margot as an important female cast member. Although, I'm not sure what more they could do with the Verger storyline for now. If I remember correctly, they shouldn't even have been introduced this early in the game, but again this is a loose adaptation so anything is possible.

Haha. Most of this post is going to be spoiler tagged!

Love Bedelia. She's a very interesting character. Gillain Anderson is awesome! I am wondering how much she was involved. She did tell them that no matter how much they thought they were in control they were wrong. Also, she turned down the drink at the end which has led to theories about her character being pregnant. Which is crazy!

Yeah. It really was a great finale. Left so many questions and lots of anticipation for another season. Very cool.
