I'm currently with a cat on my lap who gets freaked out by the fireworks, which are now loud and frequent. It has become something of a July 4 tradition for us.

There was a time I got more involved in the festivities and fireworks, and while I don't regret it, I also don't miss it.

For me;

It's a few days before my cousin's birthday. So we have his party. The people across the street. Scare the sh!t of my dog and we eat till we puke. And my tumblr goes all out. Also we turn into eagles.
