Thanks, Kin and everyone else! At my mom's apartment, we had a horrible thunderstorm that knocked out the Internet and cable from about 11:30pm on the 18th to sometime between 2:30am and 9am on the 20th (today). And I'm Eastern time zone! It sucked so bad because we still had electricity. Just no Internet or cable. And honestly I called our ISP to see if they could fix, but they claimed that nothing was actually wrong with the Internet. It was just the cable company doing something that caused us to not have Internet. And then after dinner (which was at Applebee's where I found out that they no longer serve veggie burgers, woe! ..Thankfully, I'm a pescatarian so I still eat fish and I could have the salmon I originally planned on ordering), we went back to have some cake and then we went to my dad's house as my younger sister is painting her room. I came along as I figured I could get on the Internet over there. WRONG! No power at all over at Dad's. Obviously we didn't stay, but oh Mom was wise. She remembered Panera had free Wifi! So she drove us over there (even though my sister was way tired; it was about 9pm, 9:30pm by this time) and while my sister and Mom got something at Walmart's, I turned on my laptop and watched the final act to Dr. Horrible (no worries, I won't spoil it here) and downloaded it from iTunes. Best. Mom. Ever!
Anyway, here's a list of what I've gotten so far. My dad's in Canada at the moment, so I haven't gotten all of my presents yet
😛 He comes back on Monday night.
From Sis:
- Le Divorce starring Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts (Apparently because it's about a film school dropout --that's Kate-- and it's in French? I took French two years in high school and I'm a film studies minor in college.)
From Mom's brother:
- $50 gift card (Masters card so I can use it pretty much anywhere, but I'll probably get an Amazon gift certificate with it and use it on Amazon) with a card
From Mom's oldest sister:From Mom's other older sister:From Mom's mom:From Dad's mom:
- a card saying there will be something when she gets back from Canada with Dad
From Mom:
- whole wheat naan (the only thing I didn't have the slightest idea about)
- renewal of my magazines: Dell Logic Puzzles and Dell Math & Logic Puzzles
- volumes 1 and 2 of the Buffy season 8 comics (I opened volume 2 first so obviously I knew volume 1 when I felt it before opening 😛 ... anyway, you can see the Best. Mom. Ever. comment coming again, can't you?)
- gray shortsleeve shirt
- blue and white pleated skirt
- Bones season 2 (really glad I stopped watching it on the 'Net after I saw the first two of season 2 and then just saw 2x3 and 2x4 with the TNT reruns earlier in the week.. I had season 1 on DVD for a while, but didn't really start watching 'em until I finished Angel since I needed to do something to keep me busy and not watching more than my allotted Firefly)
- $30 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble
- $25 iTunes gift card
- a cassette adapter thing so I can move songs I have on audio cassette onto my computer, isn't that neat? (I didn't guess this completely, but I figured it was something electronics-y.)
Also, Joyce, I added you on LJ!
And you've watched allll that!? I am in awe!
Took me a year + 4 days. (Since I first saw "Welcome to the Hellmouth" on July 15, 2007, so exactly one year before Dr. Horrible premiered. Even though I have owned season 1 Buffy since May 14, 2006.)
Don't get too drunk. It's no fun (or so I've heard).
Heh, I didn't even have anything to drink! (Except for water. But technically, water's not a drink according to Ted Mosby. I'm also catching up on HIMYM, that's my most recent ep.) I was going to order a strawberry-mango daiquiri at Applebee's as I love strawberries (though it makes me sad when I think about picking them fresh now) and mangos, but I must have forgotten all about it when I learned they no longer serve veggie burgers.
