Into every generation a slayer is born they become one year older every year our Buffy celebrated her birthday in 5 of the 7 seasons, which is your best Buffy birthday episode?

For some reason out of all of them i like Surprise best. I love Season 2 and Surprise is one of the best episodes of the season. It's not just the fact that it's Buffy's birthday just the episode as a whole is brilliant, with Dru and Spike trying to assemble the judge. I dunno i just really like that episode 🙂

I voted for Surprise! I know that after this episode Buffy's life changes permanently cause she will have to face sth she never expected, but I really love that episode! Angel tells her that he loves her , he gives her the ring, technically it feels like they got engaged!!! It was so romantic!

Initially I was in a dilemma! Helpless is also a very good episode cause we see that a Slayer is much more than physical power!:biggrin3: Although I really felt sad about Buffy and Giles.

For me it was a toss up between Surprise and Older And Far Away. I love Surprise to bits, but I chose to go with Older And Far Away for the comical factor.

My thoughts exactly, I can't really seem to choose

My favourite is "Helpless". I really like Buffy's struggle, how the relationship between her and Giles is being tested and how she still kicks butt even without her Slayer powers, by being smart.

Helpless!
I didn't like like this episode but I loved him because it's a strong episode. Surprise has also something very strong but Helpless has something I just can't describe. You really feel for her, you think "Damned, she turned 18, she already died once, her boyfriend turned bad after she gave him her everything, she had to kill him, was fired from school, mummy issues, but came back anyway, kept on fighting and the Council still think it's necessary for her to pass that test? And it's not even sure she'll win, she has a misogynistic crazy vampire after her and he has her mom in hostage and she is powerless and couldn't even count on her watcher".
The fact that at that point she kept slaying till season 7 makes her a real hero, after all she's been trough while only 18, she doesn't let her duty down.
18 was the year she started becoming really more than a Slayer, she becomes more and more like the Supreme Slayer (I think she reached an apogy at the end of season 5).

I went with Suprise...but Helpless and Older and Far Away I enjoyed just as much but Suprise just had that element of...ummm...SUPRISE..the ending took it for me

I've picked "Helpless" because i really enjoy the Buffy and Giles scenes. Buffy breaking down when she finds out what Giles had been doing, her face when she hears he is fired, Giles seeing to her cuts, just a brillant episode showing the fantastic bond those two characters have. I'll always love their relationship and i wish it could have been explored even more during the show.

Same here. I also think "Older and Far Away" has a good birthday feel to it. Buffy has a party with her friends, gets presents, etc. Oh yeah. And she must face a vengeance demon that crashes her party.

I like Blood Ties, A New Man and Helpless the most. I voted for Blood Ties because I love Buffy and Dawn scenes.

Helpless was a little too scary. A New Man is funny. Surprise is too cheesy. Older and Far Away is pretty much the less good out of these five.

To me the funniest Buffy b-day moment is when someone asks her with she ever thought about not celebrating her birthday LOOOOL

I think that was Spike- and then we indeed do NOT have a bday episode in season 7. I do wish they had continued the tradition, though, straight on into season 8.

yeah me too. Was a fun tradition: Buffy b-day, problem day.
I went with "Surprise" too.

Hmm, it's interesting that seasons 1 and 7 were the ones without birthday episodes. I hadn't noticed that before.

I choose 'Surprise', because it's classic.

In season 7 they didn't celebrate (or didn't show) Buffy's birthday, because a year earlier Spike told Bufy if she ever thought about not celebrating her birthday, because something always goes wrong.

I voted for Surprise! What a shock huh?? Well, Angel's there and he gives her the Claddagh, her friends throw her a semi-surprise birthday party and then the making love..It's the best birthday for me.
