Oh my goodness! If I had been this popular 15 years ago I would never have been watching Buffy! 😀 Just kidding, I was a complete dork well before Joss unleashed his genius on our TV screens!
Thank you, all of you; those I call friends, those I know as acquaintances and those of you I really should get to know better, for you kind thoughts and wishes.
Since this thread is all about me 😎 I am going to take this opportunity to say something I have been meaning to say for a little while now.
In the four months since I joined I have been shown nothing but kindness, tolerance and generosity of spirit. I have connected with people in a way that I never have before in an online community. People from different countries, of different races, different philosophies and different lifestyle choices have welcomed me with open arms. You have put up with my bizarre humour, my tendancy to ramble and my ability to write really bad poetry. Not only accepted it but in many cases encouraged it.
In various posts thoughout the boards in my brief time here, I have mentioned that I am socially awkward, suffer from depression and I am working in a job that doesn't challenge me intellectually. From day one on here, I have felt free to dive into any conversation, debate or topic without apprehension, have been buoyed by the community as a whole and/or individuals in particular and have certainly been given a great deal to ponder about the shows we love and life in general.
This has had an effect in my real life, too. I am more outgoing in unfamiliar company and not afraid to be myself. It's a work in progress, but at least the work has started.
Buffy-boards.com and the people on it make me the best me I can be. Say that quickly ten times when you're drunk 😛
Thank you. I love you all
