For those who celebrate, what are you all doing?

I'm a sucker for a bonfire, fireworks, treason and plot, so I love the 5th 🙂
 
We're all* going to the huge fireworks display at the green. There's food, and a fun fair and lots of other stuff. The actual fireworks don't start until 7.30, which is pretty much bedtime, but luckily we live across the road from the green, so it'll be straight home to bed!

*When I say "all", I mean me, the kid, my friend and her daughter. The other half has to stay home with the dog. In general, I hate fireworks for the anxiety they cause animals, I think they should be banned from the public and only used for planned events with start and end times.

I am really lucky that I have had dogs who don't suffer from anxiety and aren't scared of fireworks. My current dog is 14 and deaf, so that helps 🙂 But I totally agree that we have to make sure the animals are ok at this time of year.

But I hope you and the kids have a great time!

Thanks for reminding me! Bonfire night isn't actually a thing in Norway (duh!), but "Remember, remember" is a thing between me and one of the kidlets. He's away, so I'll text him instead.
 
And still some Catholics attend the bonfires that were originally a celebration of the anti Catholics sentiment after the failed attempt by Guy Fawkes etc: to kill the King of England and the princes. Princess Elizabeth (aged 8) was going to be kidnapped and held in the Tower of London until her forced changed to Catholicism, at which point she could be reinstated as a Catholic Queen of England.
 
I have no idea of what bonfire night is, but hey, girl guid here, frankly we're all pyromaniacs.

haha s'okay, I don't either, we'd just freeze our asses off in Canada anyway
We had our bonfire on Halloween, when I had the kiddo with me. Last night I was burning up the keyboard doing writing sprints for Nanowrimo. lol.

My daughter's dog LOVES fireworks. Adores them. Go figure. I expect we'll hear and see some on Election night, if only to celebrate that this thing is over.
